So I attempted to paint my stock lugs black, and it didn't work out so well - the paint didn't hold and flaked off.

Anyway, I see these fairly nice looking lugs on ebay, which look like near direct replacements for stock lugs:

What do you reckon?

I've always wondered if when you buy colored lug nuts if the paint will stay on them when you torque them. I had my stock ones powdercoated for 30 bucks. That will not come off for $#!+

No Roger don't, you get what you pay for on eBay, you should know this. But Muteki lug nuts I have black and they look great. I put them on right before winter hit and they still look good. This is even after bringing my car to a tires shop and they impacted them afterwards.

Hey if you know first hand go for it. Just my opinion, one thing, never buy aluminum lug nuts. I had Group A's and they strip out.

Good tip, I've had to be very careful with my current ebay lugs - they are softer than the stock ones.

According to the ebay ad, those lugs I posted above are steel w/ powdercoated paint.
I'm really just looking for a set of lugs that match my color scheme, without the need for a "tuner lock".

Just get McGard spline ones, last forever and fairly "anti-theft".

I don't know if you already purchased, or noticed but the ebay ad was for 16 lugnuts. And if you haven't bought any, http://www.nlmotoring.com/Tuner-Lug-Nut ... 25b-20.htm (http://www.nlmotoring.com/Tuner-Lug-Nuts-Spline-Drive-Black-p/wlns12x1.25b-20.htm)

I still say Muteki is the way to go... just my opinion Roger, buy once

Good spotting, thanks!

No worries Shane, thanks for looking out. :smt006

I think I am gonna follow Reason (Shane) and get some Muteki (SR35 closed end black). I like the rotating seat on McGard Splinedrives but I am not a fan of Spline style lugs.
