It's not too hard - 3 nuts on each side I believe. The mounts sit on the crossmember, with one nut bolting it to the crossmember, and two to the motor. After unbolting, put a piece of wood on your jack (so you don't scuff up your oil pan) and jack up the engine a little from the oil pan to lift it off the crossmember. Installation just reverse, though I had to get some friends to help with pushing and shoving to get the engine lined up again with the crossmember. You might try removing the pitch stop mount too, which could help with alignment.

^ Yes you will definitely want to take out the dogbone/pitch stop before jacking up the engine or it will fight you the whole time while you jack up the engine off the crossmember.

I don't understand your comment?

Subarus at the basic level are the same. The bolts in the cross member are in the same location. The tranny jack on the oil pan is in the same location.

How does the slight body differences affect your ability to install the mounts?

I've done the above method a few time on impreza/legacy/forester. Same process with or without a turbo.
