The kinked connector at the throttle body needs to be fixed, use a shorter connector or trim it.
But it looks good!

Huffer, that was exactly what I was going to say.
A tougher silicone connector would also work, I got mine on ebay for under $10, 2.75" coupler.
Also, you might as well remove those brackets for mounting stock intake, no need for those anymore.
Also, I guess this isn't exactly a CAI since you left the snorkus intact, if you remove it, you can get the engine to actually draw cold(er) air from the fender well. Glad to see other people using this design!

You'll want to leave the snorkus as it acts as a Helmholtz resonator and not just a box to quiet the intake. It is there for a reason. There's a thread on NASIOC about how without the MAF will get faulty voltage readings and cause the engine to run rich in the 1k to 2k rpms range. No significant gain of airflow was shown with it removed. You can cut the top elbow off the part that returns into the engine bay so the snorkus is still in tact but it will suck from inside the fender instead of the engine bay.

i am actually very happy with the set up as is. i am going to just leave it like this. i do like to do some off pavement driving, so i think leaving the set up like this will be better in the long run.

SPEAK ENGLISH!!!! haha are you talking about the plastic pieces inside the fender???

yeah, the thinger that looks like a box with one tube in, one tube out in the passenger side fender lol. Here's the nasioc thread:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1471819 It tells all about it.

so this "hybrid" intake just replaces the stock intake tube and keeps everything else???

Ha ha. Yes that is the thread. And yes, you leave the inner fender black milk jug thingy along with the stock air box and run a performance panel filter with a Ebay or similar intake pipe to the TB. I did this exact setup the other day on my 97 OB and it feels so much better! Good top end gains with much more torque down low.

huh. Well Ill give it a shot. When I first my intake in I was getting around 24 mpg, and I have noticed a decrease. My average now is 20-22, so maybe this will boost it back up. I really want to hit 30mpg!!!!!

me too! i know it has to be possible. when i first put my intake in, i noticed a jump, then my cel came on and noticed a decrease. i am getting the cel checked on monday. i am going to take the cross bars off the roof rack, i have heard this will help some. i dont want to lower the car, i like the clearance for wisconsin driving. i am wondering if getting a header and better flowing exhaust will help increase the mpgs too. would better plugs and wires help? what is recomended?
