I'm sick of th local shop. Their Axles only last 15-20K miles before they start vibrating.

So where to find the best axles????

looking for the best? i would go OEM or with Raxles, ( www.raxles.com (http://www.raxles.com) ), neither are cheap, but Raxles should still beat out the cost of oem substantially.

Not too cheap, but very high quality. I have them for fronts on my Legacy Turbo.

OEM new axles will beat the pants off of anything aftermarket in the area of quality.

RAxles are supposedly better for higher HP applications, but that doesn't mean they are high quality. Just use bigger parts.

I got my last axle from Constant Velocity of Ocala. Inexpensive, $60? with a core charge. If you buy with a CC they don't charge the core for 30 days, giving you a chance to get the axle installed and yours sent out. They are a manufacturer / designer of CV joints for large equipment uses as well as automotive parts. The website is a little low budget and you will probably have to call to order.

And I only bring this up since I discovered another torn boot and will be getting the other front axle from them soon.

+2 on Raxles. Or is you really want to spend the money for some strong axles, Driveshaft Shop (http://www.driveshaftshop.com/) Their axles are expensive, and probably overkill for you application, but they last forever.

I bought axles from a seller on ebay. They've done me well for 2 years.

DO NOT BUY RE-MANUFACTURED AXLES!! they will NOT last, I had some on for around 5k miles b4 they started to click.

Most of the axles out there are remanned, except for DSS or maybe Raxles. Hence the low price and the core charge. I properly rebuilt axle will last just as long as a new one will.

I have 3 sets of remaned axles sitting in the trash that say otherwise.

Seriously, you cannot lump ALL Remans in the same box. Did you buy remans from the same company? If you bought from the same company each time, then you can say "COMPANY X MAKES CRAP REMANS!". But you can't lump them all in.

Even Subaru uses remanufactured parts now.

I have heard aftermarket axles go into on the splines stiffer so they transmit more vibrations through the car when in D. This is of course for automatic users.

I got Axles from Autozone and when stopped at a light it vibrates it is rather annoying. If I drop it into Neutral it's fine.
