fuel fill pipe from fuel cap to gas tank question....

got a 95 legacy lsi and im leaking gas from the fill pipe. the pipe at the bottom has this protective cover under it to protect it from suspension parts im guessing. anyway, dirt and sand filled the cover and was caked up against the fill pipe and rusted through. not completely but enough for it to seep through. my question i guess is do i have to get another one from a 95 model or will other years work? and does it have to be an LSI?

I am pretty sure 95-99 legacy will work regardless of trim.

Also DO NOT install the plastic cover back on.. IT WILL RUST AGAIN if you do.

yeah upon looking at it and after building a sandcastle out of all the crud that was in there i thought it was a pretty bad design flaw.

so was the rubber glued to the quarter panels..... ARG!

above the rear wheels on the body. you will notice a rubber strip that is ment to protect the body from rocks and salt but does the opposite... dirty, salt, crap gets stuck in between.

Go out side and pull them off. Just like that.. GRAB AND YANK.
