well i was looking at changing out my rear trailing arms, and lateral links. With the kit that godspeed offers for the GD body style. Now will this give me a slight wider stance in the rear on my 97'lgt. If so how can i get the same wider stance in the front of my car? What parts do i need? Any help would be appreciated.

You could just use 04+ STI A-arms, trailing links etc. You don't have to use an aftermarket kit.

Check Dip's Member Rides thread, he did this with his BD when he swapped it. Chuck will no doubt chime in here with some extremely useful information.

My thoughts would be that you can use the control arms, axles, and camber plates, extended tie rods, anti lift kit and camber bolts. The control arms and axles would hold the lower part of the strut out to GD size but since you kinda cant mod the strut mount holes to be moved over, this would cause the car to have extreme negative camber. The camber plates at the top and bottom could be used to fix the geometry of camber. The extended tie rods can help fix toe angle and the anti lift kit along with the camber plates can help with caster control to bring it back within spec.

Why not just run wider rims something long the lines of 17x8.5 with a lower offset such at +38, +35. Im not saying go hella flush but you can make that fitment functional.

You'll have the same issues to deal with as with me, and on RS's and WRX wagon owners. Also, a little negative camber in the front never hurts these cars, in fact that is the primary reason people have used the wider front control arms. You get approximately 1* neg. camber with the arms alone.

Get wrx sedan front control arms.
