so my 95 legacy LSI has been doing this off and on now for a month or so. the ABS light will come on and a buzzing sound is heard from the passenger side front under the hood where the ABS stuff is at. i guess that is a little relay there or something but it keeps buzzing when the car is off. so i pull it out and leave it for a few minutes. put it back in and it quits. brakes dont feel spongy at all. anyone else have this problem?

I had this happen to me once last year in my 96' Outback

It all started after a snow session in parking lot, my ABS light came on as well as the buzzing from the pump. I woke up the next morning and I heard the sound you described. My battery was almost drained so the ABS pump was buzzing all night. I unplugged it just like you for a few minutes and everything went back to normal.

I have no idea whats causing it but at least your not the only one.

so if i unplug it, then the only result i should get is no anti lock brakes? if so, i can live with that.

You are correct..

The brake system is still pressurized with or without the pump working.

Mine did this too, in the dead of winter in early 2010. Did the same thing with the unplugging and such, I remember doing it about 5 times or so. It hasn't happened since tho, and the abs still works so idk? I would say it was on its way out, but more than a year later it still works...

Howdy! Buzzing ABS relay was stopped by tapping my wrench handle on its black plastic case. Maybe some deposits have built up on the relay contacts? Thanks to all for your help - it saved my Saturday!
