Lately Iv been noticing that while doing low speed turns, almost always somewhat sharp turn, that my steering wheel will vibrate. Its never at higher speeds, all low parking lot like speeds less then 10. I thought maybe my power steering fluid was low but its full if not slightly over full and Im out of ideas of what it could be. Theres no noises that I can hear or anything else going on just the vibration. Its only a slight vibration but it has slowly been getting worse and more noticeable and occurring more

1) CV shafts / Axles (torn boot or bad CV)
2) Wheel bearing

Auto or manual?
If it's auto I bet you have the beginnings of torque bind.

It's a 98 2.2 auto less then 80k miles. And I would hope it's not a bad cv just had those replaced less then 2 years ago. And Iv tried to listen for sounds and detect any problems but it doesnt always happen, its an intermittent thing

Have someone drive the car in a tight circle in a parking lot, low speed. Walk next to it and watch your rear wheels. If they are "scrubbing" or trying to turn at the same rate as the front wheels, you have torque bind symptoms.

Put the 10A (I think) fuse in the FWD fuse holder slot up by the passenger side firewall INSIDE the engine bay. The FWD light on the dash should illuminate. This makes the car FWD only and if your scrubbing and binding symptoms are gone it means either:

a) the transfer clutch packs inside the transmission are burning up
b) your DutyC solenoid has frozen

if it's A, the simple fix is to drain your AT fluid, refill with factory grade and throw in a bottle of LubeGard ATF Protectant. Within 100-500miles of regular driving your clutch packs will recondition themselves. Cost - $50.

I've fixed 3 Subarus with this method, and probably another 10 more via online advice. It's cheap, easy to do.

Well I finally got around to running the car in fwd to see what would happen. Vibration did stop so torque bind for me yay.
