EGR system help

CEL is on from a EGR code. I pulled all vaccum lines.... all clear accept for the L hose coming from the bottom of the BPT, it had some powdery carbon in it, I flushed it with carb cleaner.

My question is, can I spray carb cleaner in the metal hose that the L hose hooks to? I thought about it, but was affraid to try it, as this is my RHD work car for deliverying mail, I didnt want to make things worse.

Just replace coil, plugs & wire to correct a misfire issue, and the EGR code is all that left to fix.

Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to remove it before you do that, i'm not real familiar with the n/a egr though. What year and engine? I have one from a 98 2.5 I'd sell if it's the valve.

The valve usually gets totally clogged with carbon deposits. Get some carb cleaner, a toothbrush, and go to town on the inside of the valve. You have to take it off first, obviously.
