Welp, it's about time to start a thread I think. I sold my 94 RS
http://www.sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=19964
to a good friend, and he's treating 'er well. And, well, I wasn't really planning on getting back into another legacy - see this thread for my original thoughts on the Leggy
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18132 (http://www.sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18132)

Then I sold my RS. I honestly miss it quite a bit. I still get a ride in it once and a while, but it does something that STi's don't. Not sure how to put it in words though. We've got another little one coming in the summer though, and the added space in the back is great for carseats/kids, and it's so stealthy, but so healthy! :D

Anyways, I bought this a while ago, and it's not legal to come to Canada until June, so I wait for now. :( It's fairly new with 66,000Km on the clock, and a manual, which isn't the easiest to find (I've only seen a handful sell within the last few months with manual). Wondering how different the handling will be from the RS, and also if I'll notice the extra 30 hp over the sedan, or not.

I'm in the process right now of deciding what to pick up for it, while it's in Japan. So far I've picked up a Fujitsubo muffler and midpipe, I think I'll be catless, but I'm a little exhaust stupid! Deciding on rims, I think I want some pimp white rims, maybe BBS's with the meshy type pattern. I'm also considering different grilles, maybe even eyelids. I might snag some speakers there, and stealth mirrors. Any suggestions that you have, I'd love to get! It's just fun to consider other parts. I'll want to outfit a boost gauge and turbo timer as well, and a new deck when it gets here to Canada. Maybe even one of those Subaru under-seat subs, just for a little extra oomph - without taking up space.
On with the pics.

I'm really looking forward to the dual sunroof! :D

All in all, it's not as clean as my RS was, I don't think, but I'm planning on keeping it for a long time, so it'd get dinged up with my wife driving anyways! :D

One thing I don't understand, when looking at the sales numbers for the impreza in Japan in these years, the wagon almost always outsold the sedan - yet they dumbed them down, always. The Leggy is almost the opposite. Power is the same or more in the wagons, and the options are often nicer, or they allow you more.. like 2 sunroofs. I just don't get it exactly.

I love me a wagon though! :D And finally a different color than silver! :D

I've got a few suggestions of things to get before it gets to Canada. Spoiler of some sort, different grille, maybe the rear garnish cover if you can find it, mirrors would add a nice touch, and maybe some sweet stock alloys from another Subaru like the Blitzen B4 rims. Those would be hot enough to go with the car.

That interior is really snazzy. I like it.

How about some better brakes, not sure what came on yours but they appear smaller than the usdm 05+ LGT or even 4/2 pots.

Also, would you say the prices on items have changed significantly due to the earthquake/tsunami? Are they trying to unload parts for dirt cheap, or hiking the prices since these cars are ever more rare now?

Danny, thanks for the suggestions. I've looked for a spoiler, even picked up a hyper rev Legacy mag, but can't find anything that I like. Actually I really like the stock look on this specific one/color.
Grille, yes - in plans, not sure yet what though..
Rear Garnish cover? I'm not sure what you mean actually - I've googled it, and I'm guessing that it somehow goes over the lights? Or maybe its a plate protector for the bumper? Someone help me out here?
The Mirrors I'm thinking about would be only on for summer, as mine are heated and folding. I've had the folding before, and they are pimp, but never the heated - that's going to be sweet!
The ones I'm considering are like this:https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/03/thumb_Ganador2020Super20Mirror201-1.jpg but in white.
The rims, I'm pretty set on in white - although the Blitzens are pretty unique.

Mike - thanks!
I think you may be right about the brakes :( I thought I'd read somewhere that they got 4/2 pot ones on this year of GT-B, but looking at the individual rims pics, I fear that they are the standard 2/1 pot ones..maybe that was 97 or 98?

I haven't looked at auctions for quite a while now, I bought this thing quite a while ago in January. I'm too depressed to look at the auctions with all the chaos in Japan. I feel so badly for those people. I have some friends there, and it's just so hard to communicate how deeply I'm feel the pain of what they are going through - because I know nothing of what they've had to deal with. I know nothing of the losses that they feel, and the work they have ahead :(
The Yen dove, then shot up, right now, it's my expectation that the auctions would likely be low priced, because most people have much more to do right now, and things are uncertain. The shipment to Canada for this month is on schedule, which to me is absolutely amazing, but you wonder how schedules could stay normal.

In this gallery, http://adrian.kirk-burnnand.com/?p=30, theres a picture showing one, its picture 105. The mirrors you pictured are sweet!

yup. Those'd be the lights. I have the mag on the left. Do me a favor, and look at the first page (or maybe second) and you'll see some wheelarches. Let me know what you think of them. I'm on the fence, leaning towards thinking "rice"

Holy shit that's not even run in yet... fucking 66,000k's.....

Keep the stock wheels, they are sexy as. And trust me, 215/45R17 is ALL YOU NEED when it comes to rubber, there are a multitude of other ways to improve handling. i.e.

IMPREZA PARTS. LOTS OF THEM.
For a start, get a V3 or 4 sti engine, to single convert it, make sure you get the ECU too.
GC8 STi shifter linkage
GC8 STi steering rack, trust me, some of the best mods i've done to mine.
GDB struts. USDM Version 8 will also work
V5/6/BH GT Alloy controll arms, these help turn in so much.
Also get an underbody K-brace, used cusco ones pop up all the time. Again, helps turn in a FUCKTONNE
GC8 STi strut brace up front.
Also look at finding a rear strut brace too.

That should just about do yah :D

Any more questions about GTB's, what works in them, what doesn't, and how to look after them. PM me.
