Squeaking trans

I hear a squeaking sound from my transmission when the clutch is out in neutral. The sound disappears when the pedal is depressed. I dont hear it when driving. While driving if i let off the gas i get a small judder and then when i press on the gas i get another when i press it down again. clutch does not slip.

Mine does that - I believe it is likely the throwout bearing. So far no problems. I just ignore it.

Its the TOB - Throw Out bearing. Mine had this as well.. pretty common with subaru's of these gen's it seems. Mine had the squeak for about 3 years before I finally got a new clutch + all that good stuff including the TOB, and had them replaced last month. No more squeaking when the clutch pedal is let out. Its most definitely your TOB if it has no effect on how the car shifts / drives.

well i still have that sudder when leting off the throttle which i think is trans related. feels like when an auto trans shifts (not when I am shifting)
