It is an air diversion plate for the bd/bg... but where does it go and what does it mount to?
I searched SL-i for "diversion" and the only thing I could find was Vlad's 97 bd but from his pictures it didnt look like this was the same thing.
How rare is this thing and is it practical for a stock engine with high miles... I do a lot of highway cruising.

looks like an aftermarket version of the diffuser on the bottom of the hoodscoop. remove the heat foam on the under side of the hood via clips, remove your old diffuser and replace it with this
must have gt hood for this

So if i dont have a GT hood then this wouldnt do any good?
I thought this was like a radiator shroud...

Right, a radiator shroud would look more like a long strip of metal with a couple bends and holes in it.

if it is a hood scoop diffuser (which is what it looks like) you would need a gt hood and even thats no guarantee that itll bolt right in. unless it was advertised for legacy it could be for an rs/obs, wrx, or sti in which case you might have to modify it to work on a gt hood

You need an intercooler. And a turbo. It diverts air from the hood scoop onto the turbo to help keep it cooler. It serves no purpose on an NA engine.

Perfect. Thank you for the clarification.
