I have a set of Motegi 18x8 rims with 225/40/18 tires i accidently bought 245/40/18 tires now with the 225 i didnt have any rubbing or any issues, my question is will i run into any problems with the 245? will it handle better or worse or no different? i just wanna know what im in for tmrw when they come and i put them on.

there are factors in rim design that will help push them out for more tyre clearance, different offsets and things. focus on the parts you know then, I'm crabby.

get specs of the wheels youre putting the tires one. 245's will fit on a BE, but they need to be on the right offset. Be preparted to slightly roll your fenders if need be. They have a lot more room than the 2nd gen Legacy.
Also, you'll tramline more and probably drop your fuel economy slightly from wider tires. Theyre a bit wide for normal commuting use, I suppose if you drive the car aggressively you'll have comfort in knowing you have the extra grip...

40mm offset is a little low, you may rub on the fenders. Dial in negative camber (which you should anyway) and roll the fenders.

40 is better for him it puts the tire a little further from lower spring perch, whats your suspension like? stock/lowered? i've been on 245 for a while now and car handles way different than 225.

well like Ben said at the minimum you'll need to roll fenders probably a pull in the back too.
