What is the "Final goal" for you car?

very well aware of what a nonturbo STi motor would be like. I have seen them in rally cars and street cars. and even though I don't like turbos that doesnt mean I don't know the differences between N/A and turbo. I also understand supercharged and engines built for nitrous. the companies that build N/A STi engines put there own high comp pistons and N/A fuel mapping. other than that just think of the stronger internals higher flow capacity both fuel and air, higher red line, the list goes on and buying all that stuff for my regular 2.5 would not be something I would be willing to do.

Leave my car exactly how it is, buy pre 96' (OBD I) impreza coupe. Have EZ30 converted to closed deck w/ forged internals add 2 turbos :). Drop in to fully caged track ready impreza coupe. Oh and repaint STi pearl white.

To run all kinds of boost I'll need a standalone and a 6mt, but I heard from Matt Monson that he can make a 5-speed in
a 6-speed case to my specifications and gear ratios, which I'd prefer. Just need to find a broken 6mt, lol.

Personally I'd love nothing more than a 100% BRAND NEW legacy chassis to work with.

Ahh yes time and money.. I think I have made my "goal" clear in my build thread.

But besides the weld-in 6-8 point cage and stich welding the seams thats happening in the next 6 months.

My only other goal is a 2.7l with a GT35R mounted at the bottom with a Corse Veloce FFIM, dry sump + oil accumulator, dual-fuel rails, dog gear set for my 6MT, AEM standalone, STACK/MoteC digital cluster. Oh and the most important thing a PIT CREW!

In all seriousness I have a few things I like to do to my current or next Legacy. One is with all the talk lately with H6's I would love to build an all motor H6. I haven't got into details what I would like to do to it, but one thing is a 6mt sti drivetrain. Something I.have been honking about for sometime that I kinda kept to myself is doing a high compression 2.7 stroker which is why I had my exhaust made how it is. I don't see this happening anytime soon, but some day I may say fuck it and start the process. As of the actual future of this current car is swap in a EJ25D block. My engine seems to be getting a bit noisy or I'm just hearing things. Hopefully bodywork will follow, but doubt I will do it. I may be.better off fuckig around with this car and buy somethig nicer.

my buddy has an 05' that keeps blowing turbos, he also had some trouble with the computer and the fuel pump :smt009 I like the 96-99's, in my opinion they are the best, lighter than the newer ones and simpler. but not as posh and rust is a bitch.

I got to thinking about the goal of my car over the past few days. I came up with this...

I have always loved the WRX and always thought that it would be the car for me. It's not. While the Impreza looks great on the outside. I find it too small for me and I don't really care for the interior.

The Legacy is an amazing car and it started Subaru off in the right Rally direction. The BC Legacy brought out the GC Impreza. The Legacy tested out new thing in the BD series and that was then later on brought to the Impreza in the GD Chassis.

The Legacy GT is a great car but I find it lacking when compared to the WRX. I want a car that is a WRX that's not an Impreza. I want the car Subaru never made but it fits me, a Legacy WRX.

I love wagons so much I want a huge collection of all the cool wagons and shooting breaks out there, cts-v, m5, e63, chevelle ss wagon from the 70's, the bently turbo r and volvo p1800 shooting breaks (3 door wagons) I think lambo did one out of a counach, the Jspec wagons like the galant vr4 and stagia (skyline) wagon with r34 front end conversion, old carolla wagons, man there are so many cool wagons!

Plain and simple I'd just love a H6 BD with a STi trans and brakes to track and since money is not an issue maybe add some custom carbon doors and fenders too while we have God's credit card at hand lol

I am using this car to learn everything I can about wiring, maintenance, conversions and just general mechanic skills so that when I get my next car (probably within a year or so and DEF a subaru) I will not be doing these things for the first time...

Ultimately, I would like to get a new car and then turn this one into a sleeper... Maybe throw in a H6 or a WRX/STI engine and have one DD (new car) and one fuck around and have fun car (the BD)

U have to realize you are NOT gonna make 60G's your first year out of college. Please grasp this now and don't get depressed later. You are gonna be making 35K if you can land a good gig just like the rest of us in IT regardless if you have a 4 or 2 year degree. We all have to put in our time at the helpdesk jobs and being the low level department bitch before we can step up to the JR network engineer role and network admin roles that make the 60K but that's after years of dedication and time behind books on your own time and attempts in getting your boss to grant you access to the servers, routers and switches and maybe getting a system admin that is willing to pass on the knowledge that he has acquried over the years.

I'm in that same boat dude and I wish you the best of luck and hope you find a boss and system that is nothing compared to my last boss who thought he was God's gift to the IT world when we all knew he was just a black belt googler as all of us, but he had his nose so up the VP's ass that it didn't matter what we said to anyone, he was the golden boy with a brown nose :grin:

We all have to put in our time at the helpdesk jobs and being the low level department bitch before we can step up to the JR network engineer role and network admin roles that make the 60K but that's after years of dedication and time behind books on your own time and attempts in getting your boss to grant you access to the servers, routers and switches and maybe getting a system admin that is willing to pass on the knowledge that he has acquried over the years.

I'm in that same boat dude and I wish you the best of luck and hope you find a boss and system that is nothing compared to my last boss who thought he was God's gift to the IT world when we all knew he was just a black belt googler as all of us, but he had his nose so up the VP's ass that it didn't matter what we said to anyone, he was the golden boy with a brown nose :grin:

I live on Long Island, which has one of the highest standards of living in the US, and average net admin can make about $65k a year, but not out of college. Out of college you will get help desk and other call centre shite making between $12 and $18 an hour. That coupled with the fact that I have no college or schooling at all doing it, can be a mixed bag when finding work. They like the experience, but the paper admins end up getting more money because of that degree or cert they have. We will see what happens. I may get out of IT and go back in the restaurant biz.
