I have done lots of searching and getting irritated. The p0141 showed up a few weeks ago so I need to replace the rear o2 sensor. Now I have cylinder 1 and 3 misfire codes. I've replaced the coilpack, sparkplugs, checked the wires w/ ohm meter, and basically looked at everything I could possibly think of. Did find exhaust leaks at manifold and donut gasket.

I have read that exhaust leaks can cause misfire codes. Is there any chance the misfire codes are related to the o2 sensor heater. I plan on replacing all the gaskets. Is there anything else that could be causing this. I don't have money to keep replacing parts till I get lucky. I can't even afford the gaskets right now. Any help would be great.

I also punched out the second cat while I had it apart. cats look good. I used seafoam, no signs of oil in exhuast coolant is good. Plugs where clean when I replaced them. The car has a rough idle and the cel will start flashing every now and then when driving coolant temp is staying around 207degreesF.

The car is a 97 2.5gt auto

check to make sure all of the fuses are not blown. Sometimes that may cause a code to appear.

I already checked all fuses are good. I think I'm gonna go pick up the gaskets tonite and put them in tomorrow I hope that's the problem it's the only thing I can find that is wrong

also check all connections. could be one loose wire in the circuit!

cyl 1 and 3 are on the same bank, right? could be a HG, OR could be crap in the fuel lines, i had a miss before that i tracked to being crap filled injector screens, be careful when re installing the injectors so you dont pinch the O rings.

Replace the O2 sensor and fix your exhaust leaks. Should have done that first.

problem is still there. I thought I narrowed it down to one of the harnessess from my turbo xs dtec-fc so I uninstalled the dtec. still has the rough idle. Is there any common problems with the wiring at or around the ecu? when I play with the wiring the idle will change or even stall the car (it doesn't do it all the time and I cant pinpoint any wire or wires that will make a diff) I have wiggled about every single wire and every single harness. the only time it seemed to make a diff with specific wires was when I was messing with the dtec harness (it was the pigtail that connects the TPS and injector duty wires) now the dtec is unhooked and it is still running like crap. I got the idle to change when basically grabbing all the wires and moving them around even after I removed the dtec

I think it's the head gasket :( I got air bubbles in the coolant overflow and it smells funny
