sunroof that won't close

I have a 1998 Legacy GT with a broken sunroof, but forgot that it was broken in my enjoyment of the beautiful weather, and opened it. So, it opens just fine, but I can only close it about halfway by pushing the lever and manually trying to force it shut. Any suggestions?

ummm...are you pushing the button a second time after it shuts halfway?...you push the button and itll always stop halfway and you push the button again to shut it the rest of the way.
