That looks amazing! I was looking at the 2005 XT not to long ago. The Foresters seem to have this weird way of attracting people. Lol nothing like a turbo lifted wagon. Lmao

04-15-2011, 11:05 AM
exactly, it just has that look of, im big, but im bad dont mess with me. I loved the impreza but def. love the extra room and power more lol

04-15-2011, 11:39 AM
Looks great! Why upgrade the scoop? I like that one on there. Sell it to me!

04-15-2011, 11:42 AM
ive always liked the way the sti scoops look on these hoods, make them look more aggressive IMO

04-15-2011, 02:11 PM
YES! :smt023 since you have the 04 STi you should swap parts and do a Fozz STi.

04-15-2011, 02:15 PM
thats my thinking actually, gonna try to mod the TMIC and get that swapped over today

04-15-2011, 03:05 PM
What engines are in these? Same as the Wrx?

04-15-2011, 03:23 PM
2.5l 4 cyl 16 valve 226 tq 224 hp

04-15-2011, 03:46 PM
So you got rid of the Impreza hatch? The '11 model?

04-15-2011, 04:01 PM
yup i did, dont get me wrong i loved my impreza, but since i got rid of the 05 FXT and got the '11, i feel like i just settled for the car rather then getting what i truely wanted. So when i saw the 07 and the dealer said they would work out i deal, i had to take it because now im in the car i truely wanted

04-15-2011, 05:03 PM
I hated that Impreza hatch actually. Couldn't stand it.

So did you trade it with all the mods you did to it? What a waste if you did...

04-15-2011, 09:10 PM
Negative, stripped it down and gave it back to them stock plus the hids

04-16-2011, 10:30 AM
ignore this

04-16-2011, 01:27 PM
so had some time to take a few pics in between the ridiculous rain storm we had yesterday. nothing special.

OR. must have been covered by clouds it was relentless heavy rain for my drive down to Methford.

Get those BBSs on!!

04-16-2011, 01:29 PM
im debating if i want to keep the silver style or upgrade to gold

04-16-2011, 04:32 PM

04-16-2011, 04:59 PM
either. i kinda like gold on black. but i would use what you have available.

my buddies STi swapped FXT

04-16-2011, 09:46 PM
got off work early and did a few minor changes to the FXT, installed ZeroSport radiator shroud i had laying around in my garage and decided to make use of my heat gun and debadge the ass

04-19-2011, 10:05 AM
Ok, so i decided to add some item to my mod's list. Couple nights ago i ordered a Subtle alternator cover as well as a Subtle intake mani name plate. I am trying to get my hands on a stock STI TMIC and am hopeing to have one by the end of the weeks, fingers crossed.

04-19-2011, 08:59 PM
so i decided to introduce my XT to my STI, the future doner.

04-19-2011, 09:50 PM
So you were not joking huh?

04-19-2011, 10:25 PM

04-20-2011, 12:27 AM
can that weird piece of silver on the back be sprayed black? minor easy mod maybe.

04-20-2011, 06:51 AM
I did not think.you were serious about using your STi for the donor car. Should move nice.

04-20-2011, 10:16 AM
as a matter of fact thats exactly what im planning on doing rocket, going in today to pick up some flat black vinyle and weather permitting i will have it blacked out today after work. Pics to come. Httrdd i plan on using some parts off the STI. For example, i want those BBS on the Fozz so when i find some dope wheels for the STI i will swap em. Same goes for some of the performace parts, whatever get upgraded in the STI will go into my Fozzi, at least thats the plan lol.

04-20-2011, 07:47 PM
blacked out trim after work

04-21-2011, 02:09 PM
perfect. why would Subaru not do that in the first place. :smt017

another idea for you:

04-21-2011, 03:10 PM
That looks nice! Is that just smoked?

04-21-2011, 03:33 PM
damn rocket, that looks hella clean, i was gonna go with blacked out like my Impreza but im liking that even better.

04-21-2011, 06:20 PM
Just recieved my package from Subtle Solutions, plan to instal in a few and will have pics posted later tonight.

04-21-2011, 07:09 PM
That looks nice! Is that just smoked?
no its baked, then the shroud comes out, then painted.

04-21-2011, 09:07 PM
Pics, pics, pics

went from this:
to this

04-21-2011, 09:36 PM
One thing to look into adding, rear wing. It looks so empty without one.

That looks nice! Is that just smoked?
no its baked, then the shroud comes out, then painted.
I've read that its either JDM or OEM '08 Forester Sport. It may be baked but I'm not sure. 04-22-2011, 01:29 PM
ya i looked into noth those links earlier, they are way spendy lol. genuine but spendy lol. Im still debating if i want those tails or something like this:

both ways look clean, the blacked out is for sure cheaper

04-22-2011, 10:47 PM

yes fairly expensive. did you see if they could be baked?

04-23-2011, 10:45 AM
ya, that fozz is nasty, i kinda like the way his tails look in that, they are dark but at the same time not too dark.

04-23-2011, 09:04 PM
so, i got bored and decided to throw in my hella supertones and remove the forester sports emblem.

04-24-2011, 01:26 AM

HELP!!!!!! So i ordered some HID's the other day and they finally arrived. I went to install them and realized there was something off from the very get go. The bulbs didnt fit in the right spot. My car is H1 bulb and the high beams are 9005. Anyways, i went and picked up some H1 bulbs and got back to work. My issue is once everything was hooked up, with the H1 bulbs in the low beam spot, the HID's only work if i have my high beams on. Im not sure if this is some weird wiring in the 07 FXT or if its because the ballasts are for high beams and will only work with the high beams. Anybody know about this stuff. Ive had tons of hid kits and never seen this before. Thanks

There should be a connector that attaches the stock plug for your light to the ballast. do you have the 9005 plug plugged into the ballast or is it the H1 plug connected to the ballast?

IE (stock connector) 9005(car side)---------{ballast}--------H1 bulb or
H1 plug(car side)-------{Ballast}-------H1

From what I'm reading I think you have the power source coming from the 9005 plug and the ballast wired to the H1. Which would mean that you need the harness that connects the H1 plug(car side) to the Ballast and then out to the H1 bulbs

04-25-2011, 03:59 PM
yup, thats exactly what it was. I had the high beem connector feeding the ballast because that was the only plug that fit. Ended up buying an adapter that connects the H1 plug to the a jumper that is H1 on one side and the ballast style plug on the other. Issue resolved. Now my car looks extremly wicked when i have my white HId's on and my yellow high bulbs on that i just installed. Thanks for the info tho chausx

04-26-2011, 12:25 PM
well, i just bought a TurboSmart B.O.V and of course, the TurboXS 50/50 bov i bid on last week wasnt outbid and i got this also lol.

Not sure what i should do, i think imma wait to get this one in the mail and try it out before i install the TurboSmart one, if i like it i can return the TurboSmart, if i dont like it i can install the TurboSmart and sell it. we shall see lol

04-26-2011, 12:55 PM

04-26-2011, 08:49 PM
you're not running full atmospheric i hope.

04-26-2011, 09:49 PM
no no sir rocket. the TurboSmart is 100% recirc, which i will probably end up using. The TurboXS one is 50/50. From what i have read and from what PRE has told me, it provides enough air to the ecu to keep the motor running smooth and not to rich, but also dumps excess air out. Like i said, i bid on it a week ago not thinking i would win and sure as sh*t, i won lol. We shall see what it sounds like in 3-5 business days lol

04-27-2011, 12:13 AM
:smt023 good good. i hate that noise of the full atmospheric

04-27-2011, 02:20 AM
The TurboXS 50\50 is a pretty good route to take. One of my friends is using it on his WRX and it really keeps everything smooth like a recirc but gives you a little tone of atmospheric to let people know your boosting. But if you don't want to catch attention it may not be for you.

04-27-2011, 10:10 AM
i think it will be one of those things that will be fun for a few months and ill prolly get tired of it. I might use it for summer time driving, long days, tons of subarus on the road, be nice to let them know im boosted lol.

04-27-2011, 11:14 AM
Sexy Foz. I don't like the Foresters, but the Turbos are always the exception the rule.

04-27-2011, 11:19 AM
as some of you know, im all about being unique, i coulda bought another STi or dumped money into my 04, but i saw this gem and new i needed it lol. These are rare in my neck of the woods and i just love watching peoples faces at meets when they walk by and judge my car then realize its boosted and instantly think its legit. Last weekend i was at a local meet at Sonic and nobody once came and asked or looked at my car, prolly figured i was lost or i was at Sonic eating, but when it was time for me to leave and i mashed outta the lot, emy friends said everyone was like "WTF was that, a boosted forester OMG", lol i love that type of reaction.

bid on some swift lowering springs for the fozz, we shall see if i win. If not, anyone know a different route i can take to lower this toaster?

05-04-2011, 11:45 AM
i got bored at work, decided to take a random pic infront of our warehouse bay

05-05-2011, 01:24 PM
got home from work last night and to finally recieved the package i had been waiting for. My new TurboXS BOV. Aint she pretty, tonight i will install and see how she sounds

05-05-2011, 08:06 PM
anyone know how many washers are ideal for this type of bov on a boosted forester? I have read people who use 0 and have read people who use all 6. ATM this is stock 2.5 on TD04 turbo with no major mods

05-07-2011, 12:43 AM
got home and look what i found. I love when parts start arriving one after the other

05-10-2011, 10:13 AM
So yesterday was nice enough weather wise i decided to tackle the heatsheild instal. Wasnt to bad. Worse parts was trying to work around the stock heatsheild while it was hot. Got a ton of scratches that were closely followed by bunrs lol, but that being said was probably a 30-40 min install.

05-10-2011, 10:43 AM
I like it!

05-10-2011, 01:23 PM
so ive been trying to find a unique looking rear strut bar for my FXT, ive seen the usual bar across the top of the struts and wasnt looking for something normal. Couldnt find anything i liked ......then i saw this. im wondering how hard it would be to custom fab something like this.

05-11-2011, 04:26 PM
so work is very boring, so to make the day go faster, this is usually what happens lol

found this in my tool bag so, since im bored, i made use of it

05-12-2011, 01:10 PM
random pic of " the black beasts", me and my buddies typhoon.

05-12-2011, 02:28 PM
so, today i was approached from a buddy of mine with an offer. He bought an HKS Type 0 turbo timer which he doesnt want anymore because he needs to get rid of his ride for family reasons. I have also been quoted a great price for an Apexi timer. Now im not to familiar with either of these but do know that the Apexi looks nicer and has a few more options then the HKS. Anyone ever ran either of these in subaru or other cars please fill me in. Thanks

05-12-2011, 05:04 PM
No need for a turbo timer on Subarus. The way the oil pumps work on the turbo cars is that the oil continues to circulate after the engine has been shut off, allowing the turbo to cool a bit anyway. The debate continues to rage though, just like the BOV one, but, bottom line is, you don't need one.

Spend your cash on an exhaust and a tune. That'll be better than all these bolt ons.

05-12-2011, 05:07 PM
ya, i decided i dont need it, they are cool and all but from reading and what you just mentioned not needed, ill just try and remember not to shut my car off right away after driving.

Moving on to a new subject, i removed my silencer ( snorkus) the other day and have started to hear a weird noise. At low RPMs while shifting it sounds like a seal barking. Im not sure if its my wastegate or if the removal of the silencer has made it more noticable. At higher rpms car sounds normal, you hear the bov do its little whoosh and not a problem.

Ok, I am very confused. Coming from DSMs, what was always my first mod, a turbo timer. How do the turbo Scooby engines still have oil circulating if the oil pump isn't being turned?

Forgive my ignorance, but this is the first time I have every heard this.

05-13-2011, 03:32 PM
I have heard of this, never fully understood it but it is one of those things where subaru says one thing and people will always have their own views on turbos i guess. I decided not to get the timer for now, maybe later down the road, ended up getting Defi Gauge instead

05-13-2011, 04:49 PM
my new toy. Gotta stop spending money, ive gotten a ton of parts this week lol. Damn tax returns hahaha

05-13-2011, 09:05 PM

05-15-2011, 02:55 PM

05-15-2011, 05:15 PM
few of my buddies got together and snapped a few pics, this one took us about an hour in the rain to get the cars angled just right, of course, had to have Black ice parked up front lol

05-15-2011, 10:37 PM
sweet pic, and I love the stance.

05-16-2011, 12:08 AM
Wax them wheels! A nice champagne tint on them would be slick too.

05-20-2011, 10:27 AM
out in troutdale last night and after leaving the troutdale house, walked towards my car and realized " hey, thats an awesome background for a pic", so here it is

05-20-2011, 11:41 AM
Looks great!

05-20-2011, 01:23 PM
looks sweet

05-21-2011, 01:05 AM
lookin super. except for one thing...

05-21-2011, 10:28 AM
i know rocket, i know, but i gotta find rims to put on the sti in order to take those BBS and put them on her.

05-21-2011, 12:06 PM
so, i found these and im kinda diggin em, they could look good on both the Fozz and my sti, decisions decisions

05-21-2011, 12:14 PM
Try em on each, Fozzy IMHO. Very nice wheels.

05-21-2011, 01:24 PM
And take pics of them on each.

05-22-2011, 02:22 AM

whats the tire wear on those 595s? that should be the decider.

05-24-2011, 10:53 PM

05-26-2011, 04:21 AM
so, finally decided to do something about the ugly tail lights. Posted mine up this morning and guy traded me . thank god my ride looks way better now?
the other ones didnt separate?

05-26-2011, 12:40 PM
well, i got home from work and was going to bake them when i got a text from a guy who wanted to trade my lights for his. so i went for it

05-31-2011, 08:57 PM
Finally arrived in the mail. Very excited looks legit

05-31-2011, 10:03 PM
Hehe, pink strut bar :) Nice.

Your FXT is really a nice piece of cardom art :)

Keep it up!

06-02-2011, 11:41 PM
gauge pod bezel thing came today from Subtle Solutions. Easy instal, maybe 15 mins, now i just need to find a 2nd gauge for the other side

06-04-2011, 03:41 AM
Oh cool! Is it a hassle to look down at those gauges and take your eyes off the road? I feel like it would be better if they were higher up.

06-04-2011, 10:32 AM
its actually not that bad. Once i start getting more gauges i plan on putting the boost back up in the steering column and plan to have oil pres and temp down below. But for now the boost is down low to fill the hole until i can affford spending another 500 on those gauges

06-04-2011, 12:48 PM
think this looks mint!

06-04-2011, 01:47 PM
think this looks mint!

i try lol, thanks

06-04-2011, 03:25 PM
so, got to work today and decided i didnt really wanna work lol. So, took advantage of this wonderful weather and decided to install my Mud Gaurds that i recieved last night. Took about 45 min all together.

over all i think it looks legit. Gives it that aggressive look without standing out to much. Was gonna go with RA flaps but i think those make my car stand out a lil to much. I prefer the sleeper look

06-04-2011, 03:32 PM
Lookin good

06-05-2011, 05:56 PM
well, another wonderful day weather wise and boredom inspired me to do this.

and the final outcome

06-06-2011, 12:14 AM
hotness. grill ideas?

06-08-2011, 02:23 PM
so, trying to decide whats next. should i get a 2nd gauge for my 2 gauge pod or, should i mod a bracket an slap the STI tmic in? Or both lol.

06-10-2011, 11:39 AM
new watch. Pretty cool IMO, figured i dont own a 2011 impreza anymore so i cant wear my 2011 impreza design watch lol

06-11-2011, 07:05 AM
You should also update signature then since the Prez was traded in ;)

06-19-2011, 02:01 AM
grill ideas?

06-22-2011, 10:16 AM
i actually like the sports grill i have. I would kill for the UK grill but not interested in spending the money. Funny story. I took my rear 2.5XT badge to a shop a few months back to have them fab a mounting bracket to relocate on my grill. Went to pick it up yesterday and was not pleased at all. They glued 4 wires to the back and told me just to twist it around the grill. Total waste of my time. So, i took matters into my own hands and hit up home depot to make my own. Here is what i got so far.

here are the supplies i got. total was about 13 bucks out the door

and this is almost the finished product.

Today after work i am dipping the metal bracket in black por15. Reason behind this is simple, i want it black lol. Also since it will be on the front of car i dont want it to rust once it rains.

06-23-2011, 02:51 PM
ok, so had to change things up a bit for the front emblem. Painted the bracket black with por15 as planned

unfortunately, the 3m liquid epoxy i used wouldnt stick. So, bought some 3m heavy duty sticky tape and covered the entire face of the bracket. Pressed emblem in and cut around the sides to remove the visible tape. Backed emblem on for 3 min with heat gun.

turned out nice. No i will go around the areas where the mounting plate is visible with the por15 and let her dry.

How she looks from behind the grill

06-24-2011, 12:31 AM
That forester is nice. I've always wanted a forester Xt and a 2002 WRX I just dont know which one i would get first once i mod this car. lol

06-24-2011, 10:26 AM
final product

06-24-2011, 09:45 PM
+1 ^

06-25-2011, 02:42 AM
approved. how about those round metal things that help you roll along? cough**

06-25-2011, 10:01 AM
haha i know i know, i ordered some black and red 17' XXR 518's yesterday. Im thinking those would look killer on the STI. Which means the BBS's will be new shoes for the FXT. Be patient Casey lol, it will happen

06-25-2011, 01:36 PM
ok, for those of u that follow my thread, i have decided to put the xxr518's on my sti and swap the bbs's over onto my Xt. Question i have is what size tire do i need. Im thinking of running 225/50/R17 and maybe a 3mm spacer. Does this require me to extend my lugs or no? Also, does anyone know if my stock tires can fit on the sti ones until i can afford a good set of rubber. Thanks

06-25-2011, 06:13 PM
225/45 r17

06-29-2011, 11:13 AM
just bought some 17x7.5 48mm 5x100 Rota Torque's today. They should fit without any issues using my stock tires. At least im hoping they will. Rims are flat black and im thinking they will look clean on the FXT. If not, i will continue as planned.

07-06-2011, 10:13 AM
got home from the coast after a wonderful 4th of july weekend and it just kept getting better. Had these on the front doorstep. Hopefully they will be installed today.

07-06-2011, 07:19 PM

07-07-2011, 12:02 AM
about time. what car is getting the rotas?

07-07-2011, 09:55 AM
so, i decided the rota's looked better on the fozz, heres some pics

07-07-2011, 01:20 PM
Not feeling the color. Too monochromatic.

07-07-2011, 05:41 PM
Not feeling the color. Too monochromatic.

Unless he's going for the murdered look

Personally, I like the overall look of the FXT

07-08-2011, 12:03 PM
thanks wolf

07-10-2011, 11:01 PM
looks perfect. cant bug about anything else now.

07-11-2011, 12:43 AM
Well, now I need a rear wing and window gaurds. Lol, the itch just keeps coming back lol

07-11-2011, 12:16 PM
have you hit up silverline. they might have a wing.

07-11-2011, 12:59 PM
Oh snaps, totally forgot about those guys. Imma call em today. Gracias amigo

07-11-2011, 11:51 PM
Does Silverline still sell used parts?

07-12-2011, 10:27 AM
ya, they do, must mostly wrx/sti stuff. i called and the guy said they would have to dig around and see if they still have some.

07-16-2011, 01:12 PM
so, i was telling some guys at work i was trying to find decent construction sites to take photo's of my car for a "Ride of the Month" challenge in another forum. Havnt really had the best of luck since most of the construction is on the highway. So, the guys in my construction department decided to play a joke and bring the construction site to my fozz. Sent it to me in an email with subject of " mobile work site"

(see below, photobucket issue)

i died of laughter, almost tempted to leave the caution tape and drive home that way lol.

07-16-2011, 02:55 PM
All of your pics died!!!

07-16-2011, 03:38 PM
not good lol

07-16-2011, 03:40 PM

07-16-2011, 08:29 PM
i need that to ward off people from parking next to me at work

07-17-2011, 04:28 PM
lololo that's great! Looks like you have a bunch of good fun people there!

07-22-2011, 02:00 PM
ok, so silverline has a rear spoiler, however they will only sell it with the rear hatch, which is $900, pffft ya right ill pass. So, instead of doing that i bought some one peice jdm window visors and am hopefully picking up a basket and crossbars.

07-25-2011, 12:26 AM
i bought some one peice jdm window visors

ugh. :smt013 not cool that it was that easy...

07-25-2011, 10:54 AM
yesterdays turnout for the annual PDX Forester meet was awesome. Alotta nice FXT showed up and everyone was really cool and relaxed. Heres just a few pics that i was able to snap

and the whole gang regrouping before we hit the twisties

07-25-2011, 01:07 PM
just bid on 02-03 jdm wrx hood scoop for the forester, wish me luck

07-26-2011, 10:12 AM
So, last night i went over to my parents house for dinner and found this in the garage waiting for me. Not only was the food great but these made for an amazing desert. Install was pretty easy, needed my dad to help however because they were so long it was hard to keep them level with just one person.

07-28-2011, 03:41 AM
I'm really glad you made this members ride topic, I've wanted an FXT for a couple years now, and I think that's what I'm going to get as my next car. Yours looks pretty nice!

Are those rain guards put on with double sided sticky tape? or are they connected or bolted on to the car in some way?

07-28-2011, 12:15 PM
glad my thread is making you want a fxt, they are fun rides. And, as you can see from the pics above,e there is a large community of use. I had no idea there were so many FXT in my part of town and then they just all sorta came outta no place. The rain gaurds actually use both. They are 3m sticky tape as well as clips the bolt under the weather trim and hooks into the gaurd. Very secure

07-28-2011, 01:27 PM
Got to work and checked my email to find out the status of the 02-03 jdm sti hood scoop...........I WON!!!!!!!!!!! 100 bucks shipped, i think the seller forgot about this because these things go for 175-200 bucks usually. Very excited, will post pics in 5-10 business days when it arrives.

08-02-2011, 12:34 AM
New decal

08-02-2011, 01:12 AM
Flat 4

08-02-2011, 11:02 AM
Ya, figured it looked better like that then on the rear window, besides, the rear window is saved for my llionel richie "hello?" Decal lol

08-02-2011, 02:29 PM
and another one that is green.

08-02-2011, 03:02 PM

ya, richie is on one side, Oregon AWD is on the other side, and SUBTLE is in the middle, might change the Oregon one to red, but idk

08-03-2011, 01:09 PM
got some more pics from the big forester meet, enjoy

and a solo one of me lol

08-06-2011, 03:12 PM
Got this in the mail and installed last night, its 02-03 jdm sti forester scoop, so far im lovin it

08-11-2011, 03:25 PM

08-11-2011, 04:26 PM
Congrats! very nice scoop btw

08-16-2011, 11:57 AM
Thanks, my buddy up at the subaru body shop said he would paint match for 50$, but not sure if I wanna do it. Everyone loves how the scoop matches the rims and stands out, idk, ideas?

08-16-2011, 05:39 PM
Got bored, decided to go buy paint and do my calipers finally. After a near car destruction when my jack stand bent leaving me sitting on the rotor, heres the end result

08-17-2011, 05:57 PM
just a radom pic my buddy took of my car jacked up

anyone think i should do projectors? or leave the stock lights in with the hid's? i cant decide

08-17-2011, 07:52 PM
Jackstands FTW... and projector retro definitely. It'll be better than with the HID alone.

08-17-2011, 08:02 PM
Most def add projectors. I say leave the scoop the color it is, it contrasts againts the gloss of the hood and I like it.

08-18-2011, 11:42 AM
^ ya, that kinda what i was thinking, since the scoop matches the wheels it sorta stands out, unique looking as well. When i asked my buddy about painting it he was like " uh, why would you" lol.

08-20-2011, 11:25 AM
updated the mod list and added a before and after shot.

08-23-2011, 12:54 AM
Finally talked my buddy into getting a subaru. 2005 lgt

08-23-2011, 04:50 PM
I want your friends car!

08-23-2011, 04:55 PM
its a nice ride, has a Perrin downpipe already and upgraded door speakers. he traded in a 2002 BMW for it, he couldnt stand not being able to keep up with my XT on the freeway, now ill have to keep up with him lol

08-23-2011, 04:58 PM
Time to get a bigger snail...

08-23-2011, 05:03 PM
ya, i got one waiting to go in, i just need some dinero first lol

08-24-2011, 10:28 AM
decided my car needed some better sound. So picked up a 10' JL sub and running it with my favorite amp, Alpine V-Power 500watt mono amp. After driving around for awhile i noticed the sub was slidding around alot due to my all weather trunk mat so, i got creative.

now it doesnt move at all , yay

08-24-2011, 10:51 AM
^^ little bit ghetto?

08-24-2011, 11:36 AM
lol, i know, but it does the job and nobody sees it. imma paint them black in the near future

08-24-2011, 12:43 PM
so, im looking for an intake and not sure which is best for me, cobb sf intake is one of my options as is the k&n typhoon, anyone have any ideas/suggestions? thanks

08-24-2011, 02:48 PM
Downpipe first, then catback, then intake, then tune.

09-03-2011, 12:21 PM
got bored, so ordered a JDM Forester STI red Hazard button. Also installed me 2nd defi gauge in the Subtle 2 gauge pod, while i had everything torn apart i plasti dipped the center consol. Once i have more time i am installing the Subtle climate control black covers.

09-07-2011, 08:50 PM
now you need a 6 speed

09-08-2011, 10:38 AM
yup, saving up for it now, i was quoted 4k for tranny, other parts shop time /labor. My last on-call week got me about half way there, so hopefully in a couple months it will be done

09-16-2011, 11:08 AM
yesterday i got a deal i couldnt pass up and wound up getting brand new PERRIN 22mm Front Sway Bar with PERRIN endlinks. Paid $220 for both and promptly did the install. Huge difference in handling. I was able to feel it from the very first turn. Front end feels very stiff and combined with my strut bar and fender braces there is little noticable body roll. Ill post pics later for those of u who want them. Today im picking up rear sway bar and endlinks, so hopefully doing the install after work.

09-20-2011, 11:00 AM
so, i have deicded to get rid of my Rota's and go for a more stock look. Time has come for the forester to get a set of 04 sti bbs rims. Hopefully these Rotas will clear brembos

09-25-2011, 02:28 PM
Saw your post on CL. Found this guy but up north but wasn't sure if you wanted them or not. Take a look http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/pts/2612614409.html.

10-02-2011, 09:16 PM

10-04-2011, 10:51 PM
^^^^hey, nice pic, u ninja, didnt even see you take it lol

10-21-2011, 02:26 PM
got tired of the Rota Torques, kept seeing them on every wrx in town. So, i went out and got these instead.

10-22-2011, 12:20 PM
Can't go wrong with some bbs. Best looking set of wheels that look good on all subaru's. :smt023

10-24-2011, 11:15 PM
So, i went out and got these instead.

Finally!!! :smt023

now you need a spoiler. and a catback.

10-28-2011, 12:28 PM
Im thinking about getting a vibrant muffler and custom 3 inch pipe. I heard erins car the other day n it sounds mean. Plus she only paid like 300 for everything

10-30-2011, 01:01 PM
Im thinking about getting a vibrant muffler and custom 3 inch pipe. I heard erins car the other day n it sounds mean. Plus she only paid like 300 for everything

I paid for it :) But yeah I am jealous and I even have UEL headers.

11-22-2011, 11:30 AM
Well, today I am installing my flat black sti intake.manifold, wasnt a fan of the red and figured id be different n go black n gold. Also.going to instal the red AMR turbo inlet thats been sitting.in my trunk for a month about. Then, on monday, the 5spd swap begins, so excited

12-02-2011, 03:32 PM
Picking up my baby today, she got a 5 spd tranny swap. Bye bye auto

12-03-2011, 01:18 PM
Did you retain your cruise with the auto to man swap?

12-07-2011, 01:52 PM
So, picked up the fozzie yesterday. Holy cow is she a whole new ride. 5spd tranny swap was a success. Thing shifts smoother then my impreza did off the showroom floor. Dyno results blew my mind. 233 whp and 276 tq. Epic. Thing pulls extremely hard.

12-08-2011, 03:08 PM

12-08-2011, 07:37 PM
Lol I posted that on or.awd, but then it got bombed with random posts lol, mine got burried

12-12-2011, 12:51 PM
Pic of the interior

And pic of the dyno sheethttps://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/12/20111212094054-1.jpg

12-21-2011, 12:56 PM
i have an extra pedal, yay, also got the Subtle-Solutions dead pedal plate

put in a FMIC on my friends 04 sti, was a project but was a good time

In return i got this for my FXT

12-21-2011, 12:57 PM
Favors are the best thing in the world and always pay off in the end. Nice top mount.

12-23-2011, 05:31 PM
floor bar is almost done, was able to have an exhaust shop cut 1 1/2 inch off both ends and reweld the bar to the flanges. now after work i gotta test fit, then hopefully cut the carpet, install bar, and be ready to rock and roll

12-30-2011, 04:05 PM
just finished painting my floor bar, gotta love having a big work van, ton of plastic, and bed liner spray, gonna install this tomorrow morning

01-01-2012, 10:35 PM
Had free time today so decided to do first mod of the year. Cross floor bar

And finished

01-04-2012, 05:02 PM
got some fender bars in and reinstalled

also put my custom gold subtle solution sticker on my alt cover, only thing missing under hood cosmetically is dampers

01-09-2012, 10:45 PM
I assume you plan on tracking the Fozzy?

01-10-2012, 10:44 AM
not at the moment. I just enjoy knowing that i can hit a corner and actually "HIT" the corner, rather then have my fozz mush all over the place. Never know tho, if i get a good suspension and install my STI lateral links i might hit the track every now and again

01-10-2012, 10:04 PM
Be nice to see a Fozzy at an auto-x. lol

01-10-2012, 10:13 PM
Your freaking nuts man!

01-11-2012, 10:55 AM
ya, as long as the fozzies can get rid of the massive body roll, they do great at autocross. I know a ton of guys that run their fozzies and do pretty good. Not sure if ill ever get that crazy and compete, but would be fun to take it to the track and see how she does. Once i get the STI Forester lateral links installed imma be doing the ass end. Subtle has a trunk bar that im planning on ordering and am waiting for them to finish the fabrication on their rear strut bar

01-17-2012, 08:51 PM
had over 40 subarus show to the 1st annual PNW Seaside cruise her in Oregon. Even made the local news, here are some pics:

and one of me on the way home

01-17-2012, 08:54 PM
i wish i could have been there!

01-17-2012, 09:13 PM
Wow nice gathering.

01-27-2012, 11:52 PM
decided it was time for the lip to get done

01-28-2012, 12:40 AM
Got a shot from farther away?

Any chance you can give me some dimensions too. Thinking about fabbing up an Ebay Vlimited to my OB bumper.

02-14-2012, 10:39 AM
over the weekend i decided to instal a Walbro 255 fuel pump finally. Instal wasnt to hard once i found the pump, used to it being under the rear bench seat, but i guess in Fozzies they are behind the rear seats in the trunk. Once i found that i was a breeze. Also got down and dirty and flushed my brakes and installed some Goodrich SS Braided brake lines. Also wasnt extremely hard, just time comsuming. So far so good and prolly the 2nd best upgrade i have done to the fozzie

02-17-2012, 10:32 AM
so, while letting my car warm up i noticed the cruise flashing and cel on, great freakin day. Get the code pulled and threw a P2441 code, even better. Air Injection system 2nd valve malfunction. Hmmmmmm. Call my buddy at Subaru said its about a 900 fix to repair. Not what i wanted to hear. But, but some miraculous wave of luck he continues to tell me that Cosworth makes a Air Pump delete kit ( basically 2 block off plates ) to remove the unneeded air pump for 70 bucks. So, do i pay the 900 to fix or buy the kit for 70 and then pay my tuner 65 to remove the codes from the ecu, hmmmmmmm. Of course 3 minutes later i hit up ebay and bought the Cosworth kit and will be taking out all the garbage from the air pump this weekend.

here is what i got:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/170770831108?ss ... 1497.l2649 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/170770831108?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649)

and here is what it deletes ( not the brand i bought but only image of what gets taken out:

http://www.kstech.biz/servlet/the-10/ai ... ock/Detail (http://www.kstech.biz/servlet/the-10/air-pump-delete-block/Detail)

02-23-2012, 12:53 PM
So last night, after 4 hours of pain, suffering, and ton of bad words and cigs the Cosworth Air Pump Delete Plates are installed. Took out about 9.8 lbs or pumps, hoses, and wires. Today after work im headed to my tuner to clear and block all the codes related to the Air Pump, cant wait to get out of limp mode

03-03-2012, 06:59 PM
ordered a rear spoiler for my car, cant wait to get it in so i can paint match it and my hood scoop, excited

03-10-2012, 05:21 PM
decided to ugrade my single din kenwood deck to a double din kenwood deck, love it

03-11-2012, 03:46 AM
IMPORTANT ALERT, This Fozzy is amazing!!! Dream car right here Maybe in WRB :D But otherwise the same. Sick!

03-13-2012, 03:44 PM
heres a pic of my deck:

thanks tyler!! its always nice to hear compliments about my car, take allota pride in her and been alot of work getting her all nice n purdy lol.

03-14-2012, 02:23 PM
last night ot a call, my spoiler was painted and ready to go, after a few measurements and some foul language the wing was installed and the fozzie is looking aggressive more and more everytime i see her.

up next im getting my BBS's repainted and repaired, prolly next weekend

03-14-2012, 09:45 PM
Dam the Foz looks good! :)

03-14-2012, 10:15 PM

03-15-2012, 12:54 AM
I'm liking every bit of it kudos bro

03-15-2012, 03:25 PM
thanks, more to come, ordered a set of hard to find brazilian style tails, there 08 style but smoked lenses, cant wait.

03-15-2012, 08:05 PM
thanks, more to come, ordered a set of hard to find brazilian style tails, there 08 style but smoked lenses, cant wait.

Brazillian rear end won't fit, too big.

03-16-2012, 10:42 AM
hahahahaha, epic

03-17-2012, 12:03 PM
about time Neil. now its time to go get those Brembos.

03-17-2012, 01:55 PM
about time Neil. now its time to go get those Brembos.

THIS or even upgrade to LGT brakes.

I have no clue how you foz owners drive with stock brakes, they are the worst things ever.

03-17-2012, 04:51 PM
ya, stock brakes suck, but the SS brake lines were a huge improvement, as was the Super Blue flued and better pads

03-22-2012, 10:12 AM
YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!, Finaly got my taillights and damn do they look good.

Now its time for me to smoke them out while my rims are getting done

03-23-2012, 10:19 AM
So, this sunday im getting my BBS's repared and painted, which means i had to take off the rubber so we can completely stip off the grimspeed touch up paint and the factory paint. So, i got ahold of one of my buddies and he is letting me borrow his summer set until mine are done.

For some reason i dont want to give these back lol, something about the way they mesh with the black car, black tails, it just seems right, i might offer my buddy some cash and see if he bites, what u guys think?

03-25-2012, 08:23 AM
They do look nice, but too much of the same color for me. I really prefer your black and gold look. Makes the shoes pop out

03-25-2012, 08:43 AM
^Agreed...Would need the lip in another color to help them pop if you wanted black.

Or if you want something else...Could go with V7s.

03-26-2012, 09:21 PM
These are just temp, my gold bbs rims are getting repaired and repainted for summer and shows

03-27-2012, 10:37 AM
so, this past sunday a couple buddies of mine who professionaly repair and paint wheels and myself met up to finally tackle the terror that were my stock 04 STI BBS rims. The owner prior to myself had these in horrible condition, lotta rash and pits, then tried to quick fix the bad areas by using what we figured was 3 different types of gold touch up paint, which made the pits even worse and noticable.

A few hours of elbow grease and some aircraft stripper we were able to get the rims all the way to the alluminum, pic above shows the rims 2 minutes after applying the stripper

Then, finally after about 8 hours of prep work, sanding, buffing, and repair, we were able to throw on paint in my buddies paint trailer

Now, all i gotta do is wait a few days for the clear to cure and ill have a set of flawless 04 STI BBS rims, yay!!!

03-30-2012, 10:37 AM
finally picked up my wheels, omg do they look great. Basically brand new set

cant wait till monday to get these bad boys back on the fozzie, but , i will sure miss the Enkie loaners i have on there now

04-03-2012, 10:37 AM
So, i decided to change the color of my instrument cluster from green to blue to match my defi gauges and my deck, take cluster out, replaced all the needed bulbs with blue leds and then the rpm needle decided its not gonna move. Damn. But, this give me the opportunity to upgrade the dull FXT cluster to a STI Cluster. YAY!!!!!!! I found myself a used 04 STI cluster with 80k miles, also hopefully getting the harness for the cluster. Now all i gotta try and find are schematics for both the 04 cluster and my 07 harness so i know where to splice and solder. Anyone got any idea where i can find such info, i can find the 04 stuff for days but the forester is harder to source since its not a very commen car to mod. Thanks

04-05-2012, 10:41 AM
so, yesterday after work i took the fozzie to my buddies tire shop and had him put my freshly redone BBS rims on:
What a world of dirrerence they make. I was used to the faded, chipped, off color gold they were, this looks so much better.

So after i got my wheels back on, i headed out to the bi-weekly meet ( usually around 25-30+ cars) and met up with my buddy to pick these up:
There a lil rough on the eyes, but nothing some prep work and fresh powdercoat cant fix. These are PERRIN's pipes for their FMIC kit, i am buying the stealth core and will be tackling this in a few weeks. Finally i wont have to take off my TMIC anytime i need to do work on something.

04-05-2012, 08:55 PM
then you're going to upgrade your turbo right? 16g? 20g? GT35R? lol

04-05-2012, 11:14 PM
yes, i will be doing the turbo, DP, and exhaust all at once

04-07-2012, 10:39 AM
heres a better pic of the wheels on the car, not as bright reflection from the sun as the other one

04-10-2012, 10:40 AM
so, yesterday was a fun filled day of forester goodness. Took the red fmic pipes and used some tal aircraft stripper and completely brought them down to bare aluminim.
took 1 1/2 cans and about 45 mins to do them all. Also, met up with a buddy and picked up his barely used TurboXS core.
pretty stoked, things is practically brand new.
Also decided to try something thats been rollin around in my head for some time, i took my 08 tails (black housing vs. chrome houseing ) and smoked them out. Went to a tint shop here in town and got some 40% film and went to work

Its kinda hard to tell the difference unless you know what your looking at, but this was the best before and after shot i could find.

04-19-2012, 01:50 PM
so, 16G or vf39 f0r the fxt

04-19-2012, 09:04 PM
Every time I visit your car has a new part. When will it all end!?

Nice work.

04-19-2012, 11:53 PM
The TD05 has more top end potential, but both are pretty close I think. Td05 is rebuildable

04-20-2012, 10:40 AM
Every time I visit your car has a new part. When will it all end!?

Nice work.

thanks, but sadly the parts addiction will never end lol. Whcih is a good thing for my car and at times not such a good thing for my wallet lol.

04-20-2012, 10:42 AM
The TD05 has more top end potential, but both are pretty close I think. Td05 is rebuildable

Ya thats what ive read. I was considering the 18g but my tuner said the boost lag is recockulous and i wouldnt be happy. He recommended the 16g, 20g, or stick with the vf39 idea. I do like that they are rebuildable ( hopefully i never gotta do it for bad reasons) i just gotta find one in my price range.

04-26-2012, 01:04 PM
Saw your post on CL. Wish I had the money to pick it up glws.

04-28-2012, 09:19 PM
Thanks, asking 20.5 with bbs's 19.5 without

05-01-2012, 08:35 PM
That is one bad ass forester, thinking of a forester as my next ride

05-05-2012, 01:01 AM

05-16-2012, 01:55 AM
Few mods to the rs this past week. Front lip, rear spats, tint, new deck focal speakers and strut bars

05-16-2012, 01:57 AM

05-27-2012, 07:32 PM
Selling the fozzie :(, asking 20k as is withh all mods including the freshly redone BBS's.

05-28-2012, 01:42 AM

05-28-2012, 11:07 AM
