Ok so I am getting ready to buy a set of leather limited seats off of a 2000 BE GT limited.
I am pretty sure they will just bolt right in... but what about the rears... I know I read on here that the 02+ WRX rear sets fit fine... but what about the 3rd gen legacy seats? Will 3rd gen sedan rear seats fit into a 2nd Gen? Does it look good?
Also, Has anybody tried to hook up the power to the seats so that you can power adjust them?

I put power 3rd Gen seats into a 2nd Gen that wasn't wired for it. The seats fit right in and it was really easy to wire up and get working. I have no idea about the rears.
I am so happy I did it too. The seats look better and feel better.

So I am sold on the front seats...
Anybody have any insight into the rear seat fit?

If they share body styles, the rears will fit.

Wow then I think I will definitely get them. I am a little bummed about loosing the fold down seats... but I am sure the upgrade will be well worth it.
I should be able to get both fronts and the rear for $250

Why are you losing the fold function?

Apparently the 3rd gen sedans didnt come with a full fold down option... only a pass through.

Yeah just like my WRX seats. They have a pass through.

Ok so I just got back from looking at the seats... they are easily a 9/10... and not a 10/10 because they were still dusty.
So I just wanted to be absolutely certain that the rears will fit without any modification... anybody have a pic of some BE rear seats in a BD? It looks like i would have to remove the folding seat latches at the top of the opening... Do I also need to remove the plastic surround that lines the hole to the trunk?
After taxes and pull fees, the full set of seats will come out to about $320... My main issue is that my two front seats are REALLY good still... the foam in the drivers side is a little compressed but they are both 9/10's still.
I guess I just need some motivation to go out and buy these seats considering that my two front seats are still in wonderful condition.
Anybody want to buy some 99 leather front seats?

Awkward self-bump
Can anybody confirm that they themselves have actually seen the rear seats from a BE in a BD and that there were no fit isses?
I am dying to buy these but it is from a lesser known dismantler and so there are no returns...
These are the seats... not the exact ones though

Any pictures or links to members rides would be great.

Have seen elsewhere that the rears will not fit.
I personally found seats from a newer BK, and they fit my '95 BK like a charm. (original seats had no headrests...new ones did)

God damnit... That just muddied the water even more.
PLEASE!!!
Everyone pitch in on whether or not the BE sedan rear seats will fit into the BD...

Sorry...did you catch my edit? I think they likely would not fit.
Why don't you find some leather BD seats?

If someone had a BE near me i'd switch them in there just to test them out. lol You think the place would let you try them out?

They are still in the car... and the car is in the very back corner of their lot... which is huge...
So I would highly doubt it.

How much are they? I think, with a little elbow grease, they can be made to fit.

You are certain? You have done it?
How much "elbow grease" are we talking?
They are $325 for front and rears.

Have not done it, but there are lots of threads about unusual rear seat swaps. I am talking about three hours, tops.
Edit: the fronts will fit. Why not just find a set of '98-'99 leathers for the rear. They fit perfectly...fifteen minute job.

$325 for a front and rear seat set isn't really a "deal" IMO...at least not worth it enough as an experiment.
Just spend that money on BD leather front/rear seat set and not have the headache.

$350 is a fine price. The fronts will be fine. Sack up, buy them, and post your flail.

Oh geez. Why is it when harry posts, he gets all this information NOT related to his question?
The BE front seats will fit without hassle in the BD
The BE rear seats will not fit 100% - they will bolt in, but you will have some width-fitment issues at the shoulder section. The seat cushion also extends out a little further than the BD one, so you might have an issue with the two lower bolts behind where the passenger's leg would be.
Hope this helps.

Huffer... AKA captain sava-thread!!!!!
Thank you again for your invaluable insight.... Just saved me $325... I would say that is worthy of a donation to SL-i!!!

I just picked up some BE leather seats . what is the best way to wire up the controls for power adjustmet and heated seats?

That is going to be a chore... you will have to get at the wiring diagram and and find out what needs to be power and what needs to be ground...
I dont know if anyone has actually wired up BE seats to have the power adjustment function in a BG

What? Have you read the very second post of this thread?
You don't need a wiring diagram either. I just connected the lines to a battery and experimented until everything worked properly. then I installed it.

okay thanks, question.
Do I run a direct power line all the way from the battery or is there an accessory I should tap into ?

I think I tapped into the power on the stereo headunit. Just make sure what you try to get power from has enough. I tried to get power from the seatbelt sensor at first, but it wasn't strong enough.

OOPS! I was confusing the airbag wiring with the power adjustment when I wrote that... I should have been a little slower to respond.
