originaly my plans where to lower it on ebaich pro kit springs about 1.2 in the F and R,and still run my stock OEM wheels and just buy new tires. but ive come to a decision. i want to do all new tires and wheels and get the car low. volk te37's im thinkin the 17x7.5's or whatever they are, guestion is how low can i get with these and not be retardedly low that i get high centered on the gas station ground tank filling caps. also i live in iowa so i dont wanna be "that" low ,maybe somthing like sybirs car from NASIOC

what would be my best rout,im thinking of getting new struts no matter what due to the fact the ones on the wagon have been on since god knows when i dont think they have been changed.
any help is apriciated. thanks.

KYB GR2 + H&R Springs for an economical and OEM type ride (potholes) but with a medium-level drop.

Eibachs for low-level drop
H&R - mid

KYB GR-2's can be had for $220 + $35 shipping from jdmwerks on eBay.
H&R springs for around $250

don't forget new strut tops ($30 a piece?)

It DOES depend on what tire you plan to run. If you plan to stick with your OEM diameter, or go bigger profile "just because".

Alternatively, switching from Outback to standard Legacy struts will drop the car about 1.5 inch, but you will need lower profile tyres to prevent catching on the spring cups as the Outback spring cups are mounted higher on the shock body.

Also, I'm currently running 255/40 19's on my Outback, and they catch mainly on the back (need to get the arches flared), but I hardly have any trouble on the front at all. So, if you get the right offset, the arches on the Outback are huge, so will go low easily.

^nice.
so ive made my choice, rota grids 17x7.5 +48 i figured id just pick up KYB gr2 struts for 92 to 99 legacys from boxer4racing and a set of eibach pro-kit lowering springs for the legacy off boxer4racing. i dont know what tires i should run tho, will this all work together....

It'll work. Check your rolling diameter by using the following:

Coilovers for 2002 WRX will fit nicely if you switch the right and left front camber plates. The camber doesn't line up exactly, but it's fairly close and just adds a little caster with a lot of negative camber.

Example:

This is on 205/50/15s. I don't know how big of a drop it is, but the mudflaps scrape when turning hard or going over speedbumps.

well, you figure eibach is 1.5" down from stock Legacy height, which is 1.5" down from outback height...about 3" or so..

my wagon is pretty dumped i'll get some pics soon, i have 215/45/17 on 17x7's and it rubs on hard bumps and turns on the back, i have 5 zigen gc8 springs and gr-2s

make sure you get the regular legacy struts and not outback struts as the 96+ struts are what give the outback it's lift.

5 zigen gc8 springs and gr-2s

That's why it rubs. The GC springs don't have enough rebound to handle the extra poundage of the BG chassis.

not even Huffer, its just that it sits waaaaay lower..lol...there isn't more travel at all its actually quite tight, and it rubs the same amound with 2 people in the back or none at all! :) so at least i know that the GR-2s are working good. Plus i rolled all of my fenders a long time ago so i could squeeze 18's on the LEggy...im going to take some pics today!! :)

edit, man

Seeing that Corolla bring back memories i had an 86 GTS sold it last year, really missing it now!!

Well, he has a Brighton (BK actually) so it's pretty close to GC weight. The same if you were to throw a few passengers in the back of a GC.
