Thanks! :) Not going to do anything, until I get measurements and all that to perfection, before I cut a hole in my dash 0.0

Well here's the first "Prototype" https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/04/0419010127-1.jpg
Sorry its in a cardboard box....Just trying to see how the clock would fit on a flat surface, and to get an idea of an outline of where to cut into the dash. Its going to be a long process. Like I said before, not cutting anything until I'm sure I can make it look as factory as I can.

you could always find a place in your gauge cluster to install one like some Impreza's have
Its the little bar above the temp gauge

idk, i have always been a fan of taping an old casio or cereal box watch to the dash.....

seems a lot easier to me

Doesn't your car have a clock underneath the tachometer like mine?

This could open the door for the WRX-style triple gauge pods in place of the clock.
I'd be pretty wary of hacking into a perfectly good dash though.

You mean like this?

That is already doable, the dash contours are similar enough and with the self-tapping screws you can easily get it to affix

Huffer, what about the more counter sunk alternative... with slightly less brute force mounting...

IIRC, this replaces the stock pocket location, right? The BD/BE etc chassis doesn't have a recess there that you can drop something into, hence having to bolt/screw one in.
httrd - if you just google "Subaru Dash Pod" you'll get quite a lot of links/images. Obviously the install can be cleaned up, and if you use the right screws you can hide them under rubber caps. The cleanest way would be to install it, then have the dash wrapped or flocked.

there are still nicer ways of fastening that bolts and screws huffer

well FWIW, its harder on the BE/BH to fit something above the center vents because there's a pretty prominent ridge/overhang above it, not smooth like on the BD/BG. You can't blend something tacked on top of the dash as easily.

Yeah, thats why im most likely leaning towards not trying this as of right now

Huffer what year Wrx are these for or does it not matter? I want something to be in my line of sight. The hvac mod is really nice, but I am 6'3" and hate to have to look down.
