Alternator

Adding some lights to my car so I want to upgrade what are my options? Would prefer something bolt on.

Couldn't find any info on SL-i

STi alternators are rated at 90 amps. You have to find the plug to splice in but they work.

The Tribeca alternator has a higher output too.

So I'm bumping this... Is there any upgrade P&P with higher amp for the 99 and older square plug style alternator? Anyone even have a write on converting to the other plug style? Not really trying to cut and splice though.

just the link above as far as i know. cutting and spicing your plug for your alternator seems to be asking for trouble in my opinion.

In another thread in Audio/Video about power draw/output, it was suggested that you have an alternator rebuilder build the stock one to spec. That way there's no problems with splicing wires, etc.

Very true.
They (The builder) can also basically swap the brushes that would fit into the housing itself. Same alternator body, higher amps inside.
