Anyone have a bluetooth OBD II reader?

I have this ELM327 one from ebay I got and it does not seem to work with the 97 legacy it shows up in torque but that's about it. I wonder if any others work?

those look pretty cool.. and cheap too. So does it not work at all? What software do you run to see the diagnostic info?

Its not getting data from the port so I had to switch back to my other code reader thats wired

you should check out some of the videos on youtube about that model. Seems like they are pretty strange to set up and you have to do some weird stuff for them to start reading. At least the videos I looked up.. most people had to configure ports differently, select weird things, etc.

I got some info from it now like LT fuel trim and timing advance and coolant sensor

Nice.. what did you have to do? I would keep fooling with it, you can probably get most of the info, just gotta tweak the program/comp a bit it seems.

haha right. someone should come up with an OBD2 bluetooth jammer that just mangles fuel / air ratios on a driveby basis. Could also use it to detect systems in the area and see what people are running.

i have been using one of these for a week now it seems to work fine after i hook it to my friends honda but after a day or two it goes back to not reading anything hopefully the update fixed it

Yeah, this seems a little unnecessary. I don't think anything in a car really needs to be wireless if it's connecting to something else in the car...

People like it because it just makes it easier then running wires all over the place. Plus, most 'wireless' type devices such as handheld PDA's, GPS's, phones, etc.. dont have a normal USB plug. So that would require the company to create a small or several different types of wires. That would bring the cost up. While its kind of weird that its bluetooth, its probably more useful since most peoples phones / gps / iphones / ipods etc are all bluetooth capable, allowing it to hook up to multiple devides without special cables or any cables for that matter. Sure, its hackable probably, but, its not like it really matters IF it gets hacked.

I've got the same setup, except I use alOBD for Android. It only shows the STFT/LTFT, Coolant, Timing, Load, and MAF voltage. But all I really need is the fuel trims, so for that it works great.

have the same reader. i use torque on my droid, though my 97 gives me no good info,

never had problems with mine,used it on abunch of cars, just assumed the lack of info was do to 97 being the first year of obdII

hmm is your reader the orange and blue? I heard it has issues but the all blue one is said to work better.. I'm not sure.. i figure it was not normal to have the gauges stop working every 10 seconds or so.
