Who is good at wiring? I need help!!!

Ok... so I am ready to wire my fogs and I have read everything there is to read about wiring the foglights...

The problem is I am still confused!!!

I need someone to give the dumbed up version even though I though I was ok at wiring until now.


I get how the switch works... Basically 2 wires (ground and power) for both the illumination and the selector light, then two for the actual switches function.


I need to see or have someone explain how the fogs are each wired to a relay and then where the wires go from there.


I want to run the reflector part of the JDM fogs off of the parking light (first click on the steering wheel, either with or witout blinking with turn signal) and the projectors to run with the foglight switch.


My car is taken apart and I am ready to just throw down today and tomorrow if I can just get some guidance.

I don't know if it helps, but here is the wiring diagram for the projector foglights. This should show what wires, fuses, relays there are and where they are.

The stuff inside the dotted line is for the Limited bumper (the extra two fogs near the center), so you can ignore it.

Yea if I cant get it by now... It is safe to say that a full blow wiring diagram IN JAPANESE is not going to help me. haha


But if anybody else can read that or can just tell me what wires need to run from what to where... that would be a world of help.

Alright, I'll translate the page for you. But I don't have a printer or scanner, so I'll post it up here later.

So I got the reflector parts to work how I want them (on with the first click of the light selector and no blinking).


Now I just need the wiring for the relay and projectors... It isnt going through the fusebox and I have my own relay...

I was hoping someone could just tell me

Each light has two wires:

Does one wire on each projector get grounded immediatley like the reflector side? Or do both wires out of both projectors go back to the relay?


Once I figure out where the ground wire goes... then lets talk about the other wire.

Does it go directly to the relay? If so, which tab?

Then off of the relay: where do the other 3 tabs get wired to?

One straight to the battery with an inline fuse? Which tab on the relay and how big of a fuse?

One back to the switch? If so, which tab on the relay?

Is the fourth tab unused in this scenario? If not, what is it wired too?


If someone could answer those for me I would be really appreciative.

for each bulb, you have one negative, and one postive. Your positive leads go to the relay, your negatives can bolt straight to chassis.

Your relay should have a number on each pin (like 86, 87, etc), its a universal coding pattern; google what each pin number does and you should be golden.

Off the top of my head, the pins on the relay will be the following:

-Ground - bolt straight to chassis
-power - bolt straight to battery
-trigger - hook your switch up to here, in the case of the running lights, hook the positive lead from one of your parking lights
-output - hook your light's positive wire here

I can't translate the Japanese, but I can read a wiring diagram. Pin 3 of each light goes to ground. Pin 1 of each light is the projector fog and it goes to a normally open relay, that when energized draws power for the light from FB-7. The relay is energized through the switch connected to the instrument harness i305, most likely the foglight switch, providing a ground reference and FB-26 providing positive voltage.

Pin 2 of each light is the side turn assist light and that goes directly to a two position switch connected to body harness B100 that gets its power from another relay in the A1 area of the drawing, That relay gets power for the light as well as to energize itself from FB-38 and it's ground reference through a diode connected to body harness B99, which is where I need help with the language. I can't tell where it jumps to in area B2.

Another question:

"Looking from the back of the switch:

#1- ground for the ON bulb.
#2- ground for the illumination bulb (this ground actually varies depending on the brightness of your dash)
#3- +12 volts when key is on ACC (powers both ON light and relay)
#4- +12 volts for illumination bulb when dash is illuminated
#5- out to relay
#6- same as above (can be used for another relay)

btw, the bulbs are super easy to replace, just open the switch and buy similar 14V 2mm bulbs at radioshack or somewhere. i had to replace both of the ones on my switch.

4) so you have to connect the above stuff if you want your switch to work. what i did was i just tapped into the nearby cruise control for connections 2, 3, and 4. using a multimeter you should be able to find them. connect one end of the multimeter to exposed chasis, and probe with the other end till you find:
-a constant +12, this is #3
-a constant +12 with dash illuminated, this is #4
-dim your dash halfway and probe for a ~6V, this is #2

for #1, there is none on the cruise control which means you have to connect a cable from it to exposed chasis somewhere convinient for you.

the final connection is the wire from your relay to either #5 or #6 or both."


So realizing that 4 out of the 6 wires are for the ground/positive wires for the illumination and the selector bulbs... that leaves two wires for the actual switch function.

So one wire gets wired to the relay... does the other get wired to the same tab on the relay or the "ground" tab of the relay?
