According to the ad, it will fit your engine. If it fits your engine, it will fit your car.
Check www.subarupartsforyou.com (http://www.subarupartsforyou.com) to cross reference it though.

That P/N brings up the 98 Impreza 2.2 SOHC flywheel
http://opposedforces.com/parts/info/12310AA092/
now that being said majority of pre Gen 2 Impreza / pre Gen 3 Legacy flywheels are interchangeable.
The ebay listing broken down almost every SOHC motor from 94-2001
I say go for it

If you're just replacing your clutch, and your flywheel is in good shape, just have it resurfaced. Costs less, lightens it a little and it's still OEM.

thanks for all the advice. I wanted to run it by the experts before I
spent the money.
not sure why but my mechanic advised me to replace the flywheel.
Im also looking into the sleeve kit.

... you are not sure why you are replacing your flywheel?
Seems odd.

^^ yes, odd. Unless your flywheel is damaged, it should be fine to reuse after resurfacing.
I bought an Exedy OEM clutch, and a PDM/Tranquil 5MT snout kit which includes it's own throwout bearing with the sleeve (TSK1 I think). I still have the Exedy throwout bearing that comes with the clutch.

Is your car acting up or shifting weird?
Why did you take it into the mechanic to begin with?

Throw out bearing noise has now graduated to a loud grinding when car is in neutral. I can feel the clutch starting to slip a bit.
FYI this is the original flywheel and it has been resurfaced before.

The T/O bearing won't affect the flywheel unless it's really banging around.
The stock fly is 23-24lbs. LW flywheels start at 15lbs and go as low as 9lbs. I doubt a second resurfacing is going to take that much material off.
If you do buy a new flywheel, make sure you can take it back if your stock one is fine to reuse.

Subaru doesn't recommend resurfacing their flywheels FWIW. Just take some sandpaper and brake cleaner to the flywheel and be done with it. Unless your current flywheel has hotspots in it, that would be the time to buy a new/used one.

thanks for the helpful info everyone. I just ordered a oem clutch kit minus the oem T/O bearing, a TSK-1 sleeve kit. and I am going to replace the well-worn flywheel.
Does any body know about TIC pivot bushing kit and how to find out if It will work on my 98 gen 2. I have some real bad shifter slop and now might be the time to address it. I tried calling TurnInConcepts and they didnt pick up. (must be out grabbing lunch).

Good call on the TSK-1 kit..
1) Have you changed your front/rear shifter stay bushings that are located under the car?
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/
2) Shifter Return Spring
--> This spring rusts away.. Replacement is $1.10 at the dealer. P/N 33022GA081

3) I am pretty sure you can not use the Pivot Bushing Kit.. since pre 2006 didn't use a servicable linkage.
I am pretty sure you need the TiC 5MT Linkage Update.

I replaced the front and rear shifter stay bushings a year and a half ago.
when i installed the Kartboy SS .
I thought it looked like a spring went there.
I really appreciate you taking the time to put the info together and the Part# for the return spring.
Im gonna try to order TIC the update today.
