My friends just got done ragging on me about having "the only non-AWD Subaru in history." Idiots.. anyway, I just wanted to get a feel of how many other poor souls here have a FWD Legacy.

well, there aren't very many. I think they stopped making them in 1996.

According to:
http://www.cars101.com/subaru_legacy_ar ... cy/outback (http://www.cars101.com/subaru_legacy_archive95_97.html#1995%20legacy/outback)

a sunroof wasn't available with AWD, but my buddy's 93 turbo is AWD with sunroof.. oh well I'll make the most of the sunroof this summer :-D

Sorry, AWD GT Legacy here... I work at an oil change shop & in a years time we may only see 2-4 FWD Legacys. FWD Imprezas were a bit more common though with the 1.8L motor.

As for the sunroof, they are awesome!!! (until the drain tubes get clogged up of course) I love to run with mine open when the weather is nice enough to do such.

I wonder how much quicker yours is verse an AWD of similar age/upkeep. I don't know how much snow you get, but I'd rock a FWD legacy in sunny states like California. The body style still looks good, even if it is lacking the AWD.

Now if its FWD and an auto tranny, I'm going to have to make fun of you

i always look to see if the ones around here are awd or not. most of the time i see more fwd than awd.

it is....

its not a big deal, we dont get THAT much snow where I would need a 4WD vehicle.. but it would still be nice to have.

and dropdfocus, it is sweet.. nothing beats the sun shining through a nice big hole in your roof! :-D

edit: So there's a 1 to 9 ratio of 2WD to 4WD Legacy's. Wonderful.

at least I know my car is rare :D

they made more bc/bj fwd subbies than awd. Most enthusiasts would choose the awd cars. I'd rather have fwd than an automatic; the automatic really destroys the handling of the car where the fwd just makes it a touch less fun.

Don't know the AWD autos. They're fun in the snow.

Knock..that should say knock!

You betcha!! I love my AWD 5MT Legacy! I had an automatic AWD prior to my current Legacy and it was ok in the snow/mud/lose dirt but it was a real slug in my opinion...
