View Full Version : EJ252 Supercharged? Waste of time?
I feel like this is totally doable, But i also feel that because i'm not sure exactly the differences between the EJ251 and my engine that i may run into some difficulties, especially when it comes to EM because i have MAP.
Am i hyping myself for a fools errand?
If all checks out this will be my summer project for the car. Im currently replacing the tranny as we speak. a little word from the wise, NEVER let your brother use your car when you go off to college. He WILL wreck it several times in the 7 months you are gone.

Of course it's doable!
Raptor Australia built a bolt on kit for the 2005 Impreza, which is also MAP-based.

I believe engine mangement is actually easier to set up on a MAP based car. If you are looking for information on supercharger builds you should check out RS25.com they have a couple build threads over there.
Yeah i planned on copying the build similar to Skidds and anothernord's SC build, I want something that will give me some extra power but nothing to redic as i am reaching 130k+ on my engine. I suppose i should look harder on rs2.5 for EM for MAP :smt024 lol.
Some more bad news with my tranny replacement, Found a Shit ton of oil all on the back on my engine, i suppose its from bad cam seals? thats where it seems to be coming from. :smt011 Oh well, the tranny is already out so i suppose pulling the engine wont be so difficult.
haha i like how i thread jacked my own thread.

Rear main seal or seperator plate, either way rule of thumb is replace this two parts that cost near to nothing when having the engine or tranny out.
yeah good call, ill probably do both, also my pops mentioned that i should replace the water pump for some added security. What do you think? FYI i have the most basic knowledge of working on cars. im not sure how everything works, but im sure some research will help me out.

I'm fairly certain that Skidd is MAP

Yep. Skidd's setup is MAP-based. The only real issue with doing FI on a MAP-based car is that you have to clamp the voltage signal so it doesn't put the car into limp mode when in hits full boost.
If you want to do this all right; Pull the engine, replace your rear main seal of doom, possibly clutch if you want to go with bigger power, then do the water pump and timing belt if it needs it.
They build the supercharger stuff onto the engine while it's out, using Skidd's SOHC bracket designs. Plop the engine back in, get an SAFC or something to tune fuel, and enjoy.
God i feel like i never read anything all the way through. i thought i read somewhere that the 251 was MAF. Now after lookin at it i feel stupid heh.
