Ok...did some quick research (via google and across multiple subaru forum sites). 4 pot calipers can work with 16" rims but will most likely require a spacer.

The RS 16x7 5-spokes will clear the JDM 4 pots, but not the USDM 4-pots found on later model WRX/STi's.

The Subaru JDM FHI 4 pots and not the Subaru gold Brembo 4 pots off the USDM STi.

00-01 6 spoke rims are the stock rims on the STi Ver6 and UKDM, EDM Turbo/GT models.
JDM FHI 4 pots were the stock brakes on the STi Ver6 and UKDM,EDM Turbo/GT models.

1998-2001 USDM 2.5RS wheels are identical to overseas GC STi wheels. So obviously, they clear.

The RS 16x7 5-spokes (98-99) AND 6-spokes (00-01) will clear the JDM 4 pots, AND the USDM 4-pots found on the 06-07 WRX. (JDM 4 pots have SUBARU embossed on the front, while the USDM calipers have it as a decal, the US ones actually need ~2-3mm less room).

The Subaru JDM FHI 4 pots and not the Subaru gold Brembo 4 pots off the USDM STi, those require 17"s.

Fixed it because I'm too lazy to retype the whole thing for the umpteenth time.

in case it wasn't already clear, the answer is yes, they fit. The RS 5 and 6 spoke wheels are the only OEM 16 that will clear the FHI 4 piston Calipers.

Late to the party, but the Forester XT 16" wheels will clear the USDM FHI 4-pots, but not the JDM ones without grinding down the raised "Subaru" lettering.

^your best bet is to check RS25, they have a lot of these wheels

Thanks, I will check over at rs. I did find a 6 rs wheel, but it looks somewhat different.
