Here's a couple of pics I took spring 2011 at one of our National Parks. It's still in winter gear and still has winter grime on it. As soon as we move into our house next month it should be getting a proper shine. I'm putting the summer wheels on May 7th so I should have some more pics then.

I got a bit of negative feedback from my GF as well as some of my friends for posting unclean pics of the car.

So I gave it a bit of love today and this is what I came up with:

Thx Guig'z

Yes i'm on MSC as well. Now a full member with membership card and all and I'm on the forums. Mostly in the Leggy section, but I do like browsing the Lachute section for the new beast they are building.

I'm in Rosemont in a condo right now but moving to LaPrairie on the South Shore in about 3 weeks. Finally a house and a garage to work in :)

Well small update. I've now move back to the south shore of Montreal in La Prairie, with a garage :)

Ordered my new performance discs and pads for the 4 wheels on the Leg. Getting them on saturday.

Also buying paint to re-do calipers. Any suggestions on color and type I should be using?

Finally after I have all these, I'll be ready to get the brakes, the 100K service and the pulley install done at my local dealer :)

Yeah for my first step on the road of customizing ;)

I'm actually bringing all this to the dealer next week. I was due for my 96K km service and decided on going to the dealer on this one since I'm over 99K now and my warranty ends at 100K and I wanted a full check up. I asked them if they did performance installs also. As long as I have the parts, they agreed to install so I decided to get it done at the same time. Car's going in on Tuesday and I should have it back Wednesday night. They're doing my pulley and my breaks at the same time on all 4 wheels: disks and new pads install as well as restoring my 2 pot callipers, sandblasting them and painting them yellow :)

I think it's going to be sweet :)

Well a big thanks to Brossard Subaru :)

They did everything in one day instead of two with 2 techs on it. They did all that was described on top + they changed multiple broken or almost broken suspension and direction parts under warranty (bushing, links, bearings, etc). It's now almost as good as new :)

Thought about replacing the grill? What about a low profile wing spoiler, a la M3?

ElbryanWolf
09-03-2011, 06:01 PM
The grill yes, a JDM one with the L7 yellow, grey or silver or just a grill with hexagonal mesh and the logo in the middle, but I can't seem to find one close to me without importing it.

As for the spoiler, I'm the one that had it added to the car when I bought it :) M3 is to subtle for my taste ;) Since I decided to have a spoiler, might as well show it off :)

How does the new bar ride?

ElbryanWolf
12-20-2011, 08:17 PM
Stiff like a rock, but damn the car turns now :) New problem broughtby the stiffness, my dashboard noise has increased. Getting that fix this spring with a couple MSC members. But I'm very happy with the rigidity. Now I'm missing the front strut bar. :)

Also due to bar stiffness... broke some endlinks drifting in the small amount of snow we got this winter. Whiteline links are in order and waiting for them to arrive to solve my "clunk, clunk" anoying noise.

I'm thinking of getting a 4th gen. Are you happy with the fact yours is an NA or do you wish you would of gone turbo?

ElbryanWolf
02-20-2012, 08:11 PM
Since it's my daily, I'm happy I went with N/A, regular gas vs. premium, regular oil vs. synthetic, better millage, low insurance, as fun in winter, as eye looking if I keep on adding, the only thing I miss is the power from the turbo engine (+70HP stock), the hood with the scoop and the all inclusive "Vroom Pisssh" with a BOV, but besides that, I think there's more good side to the N/A, but that's my personal call :) The only thing I would like to change is the fact that I'm semi-automitac and it doesn't come with manual transmission with the limited package on the models non turbo.

Alright, with the help of El_Nino from MSC (my other thread: http://www.montreal-subaru-club.com/mscforum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=109579) and with a bit of spare time I decided to try myself at installing the Hella Supertone.

I ended up passing by the wing's undercover to get to the OEM horn's wiring:
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2012/03/IMG_7179-1.jpg
2006 + Leggies' wiring is a bit different from the older years as they now have a specific connector. I spliced one of the wires from one of the horn to bring the power to the relay. This way I kept the OEM horms + the Supertones.
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2012/03/IMG_7180-1.jpg
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2012/03/IMG_7181-1.jpg
A bit of wiring later, I finally mounted the Hella on my radiator shroud. There were already holes on the top plate that I decided to use since they gave the right stance to the Horns. I used M6 screws of about 1", 2 buts and 2 lock washer. Place the screw in the hole, use a first lock washer and nut to create a stable and usable stud. Then, mount the Hella on the created stud with a second lock washer and a second nut. It looks like this:
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2012/03/IMG_7182-1.jpg
I placed the relay at the same place I had found for the HID:
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2012/03/IMG_7183-1.jpg
Final look with a couple pictures:

I'd recommend the hybrid intake. It seemed to help my car rather than hinder it like the short ram intake did.

I like the yellow, blue, and white colors you got going on here! I would try to keep this color scheme going with any new parts you buy.

Well considering it's my daily and it's not going to bring me that much more HP ( ), I already have a buyer for the cone and intake so I'll try to spread the love and help another driver out and let him try it on his car.

As for the color scheme yellow/white/blue, that's the plan I'm trying to stick too

Thanks for the heads up :)

I posted a link to a full write-up on the Hybrid intake a few posts up.

It made quite a noticeable difference on my old N/A Legacy so I suggest you do try it out

Even better since you have an 05 you can get a tune.

My front bumper is the worst. With all the abrasive (sand and small rocks)... it's all pitted. They use less and less salt theses days. I'm also starting to have a nice collection of small chips on my hood. Finally, I'm on my 3rd windshield due to bigger rocks trucks keep on throwing at me in the winter. With the thermal difference when the heater is on, it's almost always a big ass crack in no time (no pun intended here loll). But I love living here and when winter is good (wasn't very nice this year), we get lots of snow to play with :)

Alright, here are some rolling shots of the car. We had a lot of fun at the WBM 2012 and on the roads in Vermont coming back into Quebec, me, the guys from Lachute and from the CS3R had some fun taking rolling shots of all our cars. Here are mine:

First I need to get my head gasket changed since they started a leak about 4000 km ago. I'm going to get it done with my next service at the dealership. (probably next month)

Then probably tint, suspension and bushings (if I can figure out what to change and who can change it for me or diy  Any input here is more than welcomed  ). I want to drop the car a bit and keep my handling as stiff and nice as possible. I don't want the wheels to get inside the fender, but I'd like them as Hellaflush and as Hellafunctional as possible. One set of coils for the winter; One set of coils for summer.

I'm also on the lookout for a front lip like the STi limited ones I've seen, but at a reasonnable price. Also maybe a GT-Spec front strut bar. Performance wise I'll wait. Since it's my daily and it still guzzles pretty good (roughly 11.4L/100km) if I start messing with that, gas price for me will probably sky rocket. But in the future, probably UEL headers, full catback with new mufflers and maybe a tune to make the car react a bit more on the pedal without goin overboard.

Awesome car! Just got my 06' 2.5i and looking to get to work on it (nothing major since I am still a college student with not much money to spend). I was looking at the Cosmo SRI or CAI but glad I saw that post before dropping the money on it. Might look into doing a hybrid intake now (once I can find a pipe that fits).

Where did you get the white wheels from? My car is silver so white would look terrible but if you got them online, I'd be interested in seeing what else there is.

The wheels I got from a deal from one of the Montreal Subaru Club members, but they are Dai Alloy wheels. Mine are Dai Tarmac DW 20. The previous owner had then painted gloss white. The original color is flat black with a thin blue line on the outside. Dai has a nice selection and not too pricy. Check them out: http://www.daialloys.com/?lang=en

Alright, added a front lip front EZlip.com + LED conversion kit for most of the lights in the car (licence plate, doors, dome, reading lights, trunk). Here are a couple shots before the install (at the Ripplecove Inn in Magog, QC) and a couple of shots at a local meet with some buddies (Dirty South Meets, check it out on Facebook). Enjoy :)

They unbent it instead of cutting and welding a new one... insurance didn't cover since it could be pulled back into place... it's the only part of the fix I'm a bit sad about.

Canadian car insurance is the most wacky thing I have ever heard of. When I got my GT-B, the people I got it from told me a bunch about it. Crazy stuff.

Other then that top rail, it looks good!

Alright, little update after 8 months.

HIDs are back in main & fogs. VVME same as before.

Bought a suspension off Guig'z: Leg'05 mounted with H&R sport springs for a little drop.

Change rear control arms because the car couldn't get aligned. Instead of putting OEMs back in, went with Whiteline KTA 124: http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_det ... ber=KTA124 (http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail4.php?part_number=KTA124)

Put the white DAI Tarmac 18"x7.5" back on but with a new thread: Falken Azenis FK453.
The mags were missing the centering rings and one of them was cracked. Everything got fixed and now nothing shows. So with a proper alignement and centering ringds, my thread wear problem from last year went away. Thanks FCP in Delson,Qc, you did a really nice job! http://www.magsandtires.com/en/

This morning (28th of august) just received my AVO twin mufflers from Manchito on the MSC. They are going on the car on Saturday by Kaho at his new shop: Auto M Shop https://www.facebook.com/Auto.M.Shop.

Might as well make the car secure, so bough another set of pads Hawks HPS at Perry http://www.perryautolaval.com/en/# that Kaho will also install on saturday.

Mods to complete before SubieFest 2013 in Lachute, Qc., wine and bother Guig'z until he brings back or my relay or my harness to be able to re-install my Hella Supertones & re-install my font lip from Ez-Lip.

Photos to come :)

Cheers!
