Hello all, figured I'd make one of these. This is my 98 OBW auto with about 157k on the clock. I got it in a trade with my brother shortly after learning my wife was pregnant with our second boy. I figured a Ranger wasn't gonna cut it and our only other car is a Scion xA (well dd at least). So I've had it for about a year now and getting round to modding the car to get it the way I want it. I hope to restomod the car to a clean but sweet looking family hauler.

Clearing the headlights makes a world of difference when driving at night, probably one of the first things I would do if Igot a car with yellowed headlights. Clean wagon overall and outback make great sleepers if done right.

Can't wait for the swap. also I have a lead on a good but cheap paint job. I'll let you know what goes down.

Stay away from the UD pulley. A lightweight pulley is good, but not an underdriven. Since putting one on my car, I have been getting misfire CELs on all cylinders.

That being said, it is a nice wagon. Good luck with it!

Thanks for the heads up, I definatley want to do some bolt-ons soon. I may try to get the engine that was in the car I just pulled seats from as well, it's a phase II SOHC engine. I hear you can make frame motors with those parts.

Swap FTW! Very excited, definatley let me know about paint, I'm gonna need one.

Pulled the new seats today! Will get pics up soon!

Lightweight crank pulley is definitely a good mod, feels a lot better

Seats proved to be more of a challenge than I thought. But I got the headlights cleaned up.

The problems so far have been hooking up the power for the driver seat (finding a good close hot to tap into) and mounting the rear seats. The yard said they where out of a 99, but they are third gen Outback Wagon seats for sure.
