sti springs have restrictions ?

So ive been reading all nite the wrx and sti suspension swap. I can't find info on having 02-07 wrx struts with sti springs . I want the sti springs due to being a bit lower. My question is what year sti springs can I use on 02-07 wrx struts ? Is there restrictions on years or can they be combined ? I'm gettin saggy butt spacers. Sorry if this has been asked before but I am starting to look for a suspension on Craigslis

IIRC you should be looking for 04 STI springs.

You can use any 04-07 STI *SPRING* if I remember correctly. It was only the 05 and later STI STRUTS you couldn't use.

no 05+ will fit, you need to weld the bottom strut mount hole, redrill new ones, and have spacers made. Ill post the link to the thread when i find it. so 05+ is a an option if you cannot find 04 struts/springs at all and if your willing to go alittle more than just bolt and play.

To answer your question, there is a huge difference between 02-03 springs and 04-07 springs. The tops of the springs are different, like for example, 02-03 rear springs are not tapered toward the top while the 04-07 rear springs are tapered and require a different top hat. I know that 04-07 wrx and sti springs are the same shape and require the same top hats. I'd stick to 04-07 sti springs because I found little to no info on swapping 02-03 springs. fwa2500 is running 04 sti struts with 05 sti springs, I also have 05 sti springs on my car.

Just make sure you have 04-07 wrx OR sti top hats with front upper spring perches if you run 04-07 wrx OR sti springs.
You can use 04 sti struts OR 04-07 wrx struts. All of these can be interchangeable with each other. I'm very confident I'm correct with this info. I did a lot of research recently.
