sorry I know I've posted a few threads asking about my 2.2 swap, but its just to the point where I'm about to take it to a shop to get it over with, regardless the cost! even though the reason I did the 2.2 swap in the first place was because I was trying to save money from other potential swaps/labor.
Problem: gas is horrible, power loss is slight, mulitple cel's
CEL's being thrown (in order they were thrown)
P0102-MAF circuit low input
P0303-cyl 3 misfire
P0301-cyl 1 misfire
P1507-IACV malfunction
P0400-EGR flow
Swap info: 2.2l engine from a 95 legacy. I have a 99 2.5gt. I currently have my ecu running the 2.2 engine. the 2.2 engine has my throttle body, egr, iacv FROM my 2.5 engine b/c when we threw the 2.2 in, the iacv and egr were acting up. After we swapped the throttle body no codes for iacv+egr, but that left the cyl misfires. I changed the plugs, wires, coilpack and used bgk44 twice and STILL threw codes. One tech suggested it was the fuel injectors but the multi meter said the ohms were perfect. The car has been running rich and getting horrible gas mileage and I recently talked to a different shop tech who said they did the same swap and ran into all sorts of problems with rewiring the evap system/emissions or something like that. I had never heard of the problems he was talking about on these forums so now I'm all confused.
Possible solutions: I've heard I should try using the 2.2 ecu, BUT I can't confirm if it should fix the problem or even work between the years. I would need to buy it, but the parts store I ask keeps giving me all this trouble with interchangibitliy between 95-98 2.2l ecu models and doesn't know which one is the right one. and then I have other people saying ANY 2.2l ecu from ANY YEAR should work.
Conclusion: I know its hard to help from over the forums and not literally seeing the car, but if anyone has any suggestions please lmk before I take it to the shop and spend hundreds of dollars on a fix I could find myself :(
