Yeah, I just replace my speed sensor on a manual without dropping the tranny. Is your legacy auto or manual? I believe auto has two and be alittle harder to do.

yep, mine is auto. are there 2 sensors that are exactly the same? looking the parts up online only shows 1.

Well, you should have two.
The Vehicle Speed Sensor 1 (output shaft rotation sensor) is mounted to the extension case (from the outside of the case).

Vehicle Speed Sensor 2 provides vehicle road speed information to the ECM. I just replaced this one.

What are you symptoms? I know that you got a code, but is your speedometer working? My symptoms were my speedometer stopped working and my car went into limp mode. I also, cleaned my throttle body and IAC valve as well as checked for leaks around all the piping. Well, good luck with everything. Replacing the 2nd speed sensor fixed my problem so I hope that it will solve yours as well.

well the speedo still works but the trans shifts at different rpm's. are those 2 sensors the same exact part?

Well, not the speedo huh? No, the sensors are two separate ones. What was your code then exactly?
