So i blew the block on my 2000 Legacy L 5sp. I like reading and learning about the hybrid motor stuff, like using the EJ22t block with the rest of my motor parts, then adding the turbo, engine management, etc. My question is, I need to get the car back on the road first and foremost. If I can get an EJ22t block, can I swap it in place of my 2.5 block, and leave it there until I can gather all the other parts needed for the turbo part of this build? And, if that were to work, what kind of changes would I expect? Less power, better MPGs? My car has 106K miles on it, and only blew because water entered the block... So yeah, I need the cheap and easy if possible first, then I can gather parts and know how over time.

Would this work?

Thanks!

You'll have a very low compression ratio. Not sure what heads you have but your compression ratio would be somewhere around 7:1-8:1. Not sure if that will run well?

lol you were just posting in my thread giving me advice on the EJ22t swap. I would be using all the 2.5L stuff from the current motor with the blown block, if possible.
