Depends on the size of rim!

it's the width of the rim, in combination with the offset, that makes the difference.

Thats sweet. I wonder about shock rubbing issues though

Hey I know this is thread ressurection from the grave but I thought this might help some people!

I often times use this for calculation rims. Obviously this doesn't help when you are dropping the car and adding rims at the same time.

You have an offset of ET 53.

Anyone know the offset of the OEM 6 spoke 15x6 wheels on a 97 BG?

ok, i have Legacy 94' Sedan.
What ET would be lowest and what would be the highest for me?
Searched the web and come with these results.
RIMS:
6.5Jx15 5/100 ET: from 45 - 52
7Jx16 5/100 ET: from 45 - 52
7Jx17 5/100 ET: from 45 - 52.
So if i put rim less then 45 or 40, let's just say 38 for example (or less) - what would happen?
And i am talking about 14/15/16" rims/wheels. 17" is not for roads i'm driving at :D
thanks.

You'll want to try to use rims on the higher side of the offset that you found - 52.

If you go with 38 or less, you will put extra wear/tear on your wheel bearings, and at some point you will also start to rub on your fenders.

would the top wheels on this page work with my 98 legacy gt?

Maybe the first ones with 43 offset but why would you want to put VW rims on your Subie?

there are several sets with snow tires for sale right now, ide prefer sub wheels but they seem hard to find for cheap right now

Plus, BBS are TEh SExxY!

I'd :smt007 BBS 3 peice on my BK. You can buy the lip at different widths. So you could change the width between seasons. If you like the "look" of Works VSXX's (?), then BBS's aren't too far.

I'd be concerned with the hub bore size for any non-subaru specific wheel.

Plus, someone has already done the VW onto Suby:

However, I don't have any info on weather or not these would need any kind of modifications to fit.

subaru 5x100 +56.12mm
vw 5x100 +57.1mm

That hub bore is small enough not to be an issue... I doubt even a hubcentric ring would be needed.

In that case, go for it!

Offset is too low. ET is also offset, so that seller's description is contradictory - we've got ET of 45 and then he says it's 35 later.

^^^^112X5 PCD WILL NOT FIT regardless of the offset unless you got different hubs

LOL yeah another contradiction, is the bolt pattern 112x5 or 100x5. Useless ad, though I guess it can be one of those rims that has both...
