so im looking at getting a set of 17x9 wheels for my 02 BE9 and i am aware that with my coils ill have to roll the fenders. im looking at 2 different wheels. one offset is +30 the other +42 i would like to have the +30 but would it still be functional?

go with the +42. it will save your wheel bearings, and you will not have to roll your fenders so much.

Post picks if you do go with 17x9, I think the fronts are gonna poke out too far even with the +42 but you never know til you try...

Sux man. I think 17x9 will rub like crazy even with a roll. I had to flare my fenders a little too and that is just with 04 wrx struts/eibach springs and 17x7 wheels with 225/45/17s.

FYI. I currently have a 16x9 on 205 40s with a final offset of 24. With 4 degrees of camber the top of the rear lip is just under an inch outside of the rear fender. No rubbing. 17x9s would fit fine, tire size depending.

Pics of said legacy on 16s with 40 series tires?? It must be VW low. and OP you may have issues with the wheel rubbing the coil if you go with et 42. I think 30 would be better. google wheel offset calculator and put in your specs to see what the difference in the two are from your current setup

Ya, but it was weaksauce last year. Had 16x6.5 and 205 45s. I'm a good 1inch or more lower with 16x8 and 16x9 RSs. :)
Are you going to H20 this weekend?
