DIY Radar Detector install
Recently bought a Valentine One radar detector. I wanted to have it hard wired so there were no wires dangling all over my dash. It was a lot easier then I thought it was going to be.

Things you will need:
• Flat head screwdriver & Philips head
• Wire splice (with a female connection important for V1 users).
• Zip ties
First thing you should do is figure out where you want to mount it. I put mine on the passenger side of the rear view mirror. Once you got it where you would like start tucking the power wire under your interior trim with your flat head or with your fingers. I had to take my driver side pillar off and zip tie it to the frame.

when it came the bottom of the pillar it popped out and ran in a crease in the door jam. When it came to that screw there was a hole just big enough to fit the cord but not the head of the power cord (in my case a phone cord)

I had to stretch the cord around the bottom of the kick board (which needs to be removed to get better access) then slide the cord back into place at where the screw head was.
Once it was in place I plugged the cord into the hard wire kit that was supplied with the detector. And I had to hard wire it to either a 12v constant, 12v on/off with the ignition, or with another 12v device. I chose to hard wire it to my Stereo Wire because the stereo will always to be on when the car starts but i can turn it off if i was dumb. the black wire heading off the hard wire kit was a ground. The red wire heading off the hard wire kit was a male slot connector. So I used a female splice connector on the stereo wire. Zip tie wires so they aren’t loose and falling all over the place.

now you should have an earlier notice for speed traps.
