Was wondering, Will a BE style shift selector for the 4EAT work in a BD with a 4EAT?
I know it'd need some custom work but would it be difficult?

Reason I want to know is simply aesthetics. I like the fact its not just a straight back and forward selector and that it has no button.

I could be 100% wrong about this but it seems like the BE trans has some sort of pivot mount to allow the lever to move left and right to go up and down the tree which of course we don't have. I would think it had something to do with the internals of the transmission, but I know dick about transmissions and could be totally wrong haha.

Keep us updated, I'd like to see how it turns out.

It does pivot but it looks like it is still based on a forward backward positioning. My main worry is the spacing between Park and Reverse.

Hmmm, I don't know this for sure, but, I would think the transmission itself didn't change much. I'm guessing (guessing!) if you swapped that whole pictured assembly, it might just work.

That being said, I wouldn't recommend it. The BE transmission selector is annoying and slips into 3rd too easily, IMO.

^ This... it looks like the same shift selector on the 04 4EAT WRX... I hate the fact that it slips into 3rd so easily...
