my brother just picked up a 98 Forester for cheap, but its going to need a engine! everything on the car is mint but the engine! found a jdm ej25de for a good price with low miles. just wanted to know if all i have to do is change out the sensors, harness, to get it running? is that right or would i have to do other thing. some info on this would be great

Is the Forester 4EAT or 5MT?

If its 4EAT, I think you will have to figure out a way to hook up the EGR since the JDM engines dont have one.

Just so you know.... The second 'E' in EJ25DE means US engine. The Japanese engines all have 'D' as the 6th character.... So if you really have an EJ25DE, then you have a US engine and I would think that would do fine in a US car.

Just use the Forester heads and he will be fine.
