My 02 with 300,000 kms. has an annoying clunk(s) in both front and rear suspensions. I found worn out bushings in the rear lateral links (x-member side).....so I think that is a no brainer. but have yet to find anything loose in the front end. I called my local dealer and they advised me that they have on several occasions replaced the lower control arm rear bushings. The ones at the floor. That is basically where the clunk appears to be coming from.....anyone replaced them?
I had the same problem with my 98 and i replaced the struts and the upper strut mounts but the clunk stayed.....

well if it is bushings you can see them give way. raise the car on a lift and stick a large pry bar between control arm and body and give it a tug if it moves easily its worn if not problem is something else. Pretty much any bushing can be checked in this manner you just need a lift and a pry bar. does the clunk happens during accel, decel, going over bumps, stopping?

I have done that with the pry bar, suspension loaded and unloaded....there was some deflection but not as much as I wanted to see.....it happens over small bumps/washboard etc...not the big bumps. The clunk is low down in the floor......The dealer was pretty sure that is the problem...they even stock them...
