Just a quick question..
I found a good deal on 07 sti front seats and just want to make sure they would fit in my '97 outback wagon with no major modifications

Should bolt right in. They will sit much higher though.

Bolts in. You will sit higher by about 1". If you lower the drivers seat as much as you can it should help. Passenger side has no height adjustment.

I had 05 WRX Seats (Same seat as STI minus the Alcantra) and they bolt right in. The issue is that even at there lowest setting they're as tall as the OEM seats are on the highest setting.
I'm not sure if the roof is higher on an OB or not but if you're over 6 foot tall you might have an issue with the height.

^ im 6-0 and i don't have any issues with my wrx seats and i have a BK so i don't have the roof bump like an outback. the seat bolstering alone makes it a great upgrade.

also I believe the seat bolts are stretch tight so you will need new ones or do what I did and scrounge up some washers.

The seat rails will need to be swapped, I think. The rear bolt holes on the Sti seat almost line-up but not quite, so it's just easier to swap out the rails.
How do you swap the rails? From what I can tell the height is part of the frame itself, the sliders don't lower the seat any.

I'm 6'3" and I couldn't sit right with the 05's. From what I understand 02-03 seats (Same as RS which is what I have now) are only very slightly higher then stock. I noticed close to a 2" drop from the 05's to my 01 RS seats and they're WAY more comfortable for someone my size.
But all of this is coming from the perspective of my 98 LGT, not an Outback which I believe has a slightly higher roof anyway. My suggestion is to find someone local willing to let you swap the driver seat so you can judge for sure if it will work for you.
Anyway, back to the original question. Yes, they should bolt right in with no modifications needed.

The Bugeye seats are still an inch higher than the stock Leggy seats. At 6'3" myself, I still feel like I have room to wear a helmet.
