Main Harness

Doe anyone know if there are any differences in the main harness of a 00 Outback, to any other 3rd gen legacy? Mine has a short, and keeps causing problems. Going to fork over the money to replace it, but seeing as they dont make new harnesses Im going to have to get a used one

I would say compare the wiring schematics from the FSMs but for the amount of work to re-and-re a harness why not just spend the day and source the short with a cable tester and some solder/shrink wrap.

Normally the Outbacks got the cold weather package, so they have pigtails for seat & mirror & windshield warmers. That should be it though. Everything else should be the same

I do have a spare harness sitting around, that was cut from my same year about 9 inches behind the emergancy flasher light. I just didnt know if it could cause more problems. Its one of the wires going to the emergancy flasher button. Because when you move the cable when the car is off it turns the guages on. So I will find someone that can do wiring. :)

If there is a short, pull you hazzard bezel to find the short.
