okay so i got a little bored and got this idea to look for some new brake calipers. While looking at some posts on nasioc, i found someone who posted they could get some refurbished 05 LGT brakes from Rockauto.com for $240 for both fronts. So my wheels started turning, if they could get them for that price, what other calipers do they have...
Well after looking, they sell them for a few different models and one happened to be the 07 wrx sti limited.
Since i cant link it, here's a picture of what im talking about:
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/05/BrakePicture-1.jpg
So in the pictures they show the Brembo's... Now i know they're not sending you a set of brembos, but wouldn't it be a different brand caliper (centric, in this case) but with pretty much the same set up as the brembos? (so like knock off's basically.. ie: borlas/ boral reps)
What im asking, has anybody done this or know anything about these replacements? maybe im making something out of nothing, but figured i throw it out there to see what you guys think..

It would be nice if it's true.

@ 300 per caliper you are not saving anything, if you look you can find a set of brembos under a grand
ps. those are only calipers you'd also need brackets to fit your car making it way more expensive

They bolt up to the front knuckles without a bracket. He would just need the 04 STi rotors to go with those calipers. And When I priced them out they were 158 per caliper, loaded. He would also need wheels that would clear the Brembos.

158 including core?

Yeah I forgot that part. It would be 268 each. 158 for the caliper and 110 for the core.

Well pads come with the calipers, since they are loaded. Shipping isn't too bad, and rotors are only 55 each. It total, I would say $700 for just the fronts. And that is all new stuff. Wheels in the other hand, that is gonna be the fun part.

Call them up, get the weight of the caliper. Then you'll know if they're OEM Brembo replacements or knockoffs.

I doubt they're knock offs, they're probably just refurbished OEM models.

Im not saying its a cheaper option then used, but its just another option if you didnt want to go used. Depending on what they actually turned out to be, if i had the money i'd consider getting a pair of the "knock off" brembo's. I wouldnt need it because i def. dont have the power that needs that type of stopping strenght . But its nice to know its a possibility.

^^ if you want better stopping power just upgrade to the 04 GT BE/BH chassis brakes - they got the same engine HP but a much heavier chassis.
Anything larger and you're getting an extremely heavy caliper & rotor that is beyond the BD chassis...

PS: Those aren't brembos. those are FHI 4 pots, and $600 isn't a great price for remans when new OEMs can be had for about the same price...

Going to look for some 04 LGT front and rear rotors, calipers, and pads to upgrade my break system. So everything is just bolt on or what modifiations need to be done. Also what pads with this setup?

^^^ everything is bolt on. Just get everything for an 04 leg gt. Pads etc. Your stock brake lines work fine too.

Anything you want, just make sure the fitment is right for your caliper. I like hawk hps pads because theyre usa made andthey work well.
