Caliper conundrum (I made a funny!)

Anyway, my driver's side front piston seized in the caliper, and I decided to replace the whole thing rather than rebuild it. I went through the parts department at my dealership, but the company they used has sent me (3 times) a dual-piston caliper. They are supposed to send me the correct one later on this afternoon, or hopefully tomorrow morning. I have three minor questions:

1. Does the BE-chassis GT/Outback come equipped with a dual-piston setup?
2. If so, are the calipers compatible with my rotors (are they the same size)
3. If they send me another dual-piston setup, can I just order one for the passenger side and "slap 'em on"?

Should take the opportunity and upgrade your front rotor size:
L:10.7" vented front disc, dual caliper piston, 11.3" rear disc.
GT: 11.4" vented front disc, dual caliper piston, 11.3" rear disc

If you're getting rebuilt calipers, just specify 04 GT and you'll get the caliper bracket, caliper and match the rotors.

P.s when you say bracket are you referring to the carrier?

Huffer is referring to the bracket that holds the caliper to the spindle/hub.

Example> The bracket that has to be removed during brake pad swaps..

Also depending on the steelie.

Example> My 15" outback wheels clear 2-piston brakes.

Not 100% sure, but I am going to say yes, because your 03 should have the 11.3" rear rotor, same as the GT which comes with 16" alloy wheels. So it should fit just fine.

Who cares about the the master & booster..

If I can run Brembo's with my stock 97 master/booster then your mild upgrade should not be an issue.

I do recommend stainless steel lines .... uber pedal pressure.

Stainless lines are on order, although they won't be here for about 4 weeks. I have genuine subaru fluid for the time being, and when I get the lines i'll go super blue.

What year GT? Through 01 they used 276x24mm rotors which cleared 15's, 02-04 they went with the WRX sized 294x24mm rotors which require 16's to clear the larger (also 2-pot) caliper.

Edit: Enkei, Team Dynamics, OZ and others make special 15" rally rims that fit the 4-pot WRX and 02-04 GT/standard WRX front brakes.

I'm assuming '03, since that's what year my car is and every time I kept receiving the 2-pot setup. I'll try the steelies when I get the brakes on, and if they don't fit I'll try to trade 'em for some snowflake stockers.
