Subaru 6 cylinder

I didnt know Subaru made a 6 cylinder, why don't they sell it in America. The Subaru-France site has it.

Yep any of the new H6 badged legacies and other models are all the 6 cylinder. The SVX was too.

There are a bunch of Outback SUS Sedans in my area that are H6 powered.

BE Chassis + 3.0L

The new H6's have the engine "EZ30" in them. The SVX has the "EG33." EG33's fit in Legacies with a bit of modding.

there was also the er27 in the xt-6.

The outback has a h6 available, and the engine is standard in the tribeca

The H6 engine (EZ30) has been available since the 3rd generation Outback (the LL Bean or the VDC). In 2005, it became available in the LL Bean, VDC, and 3.0R (lifted sedan) versions, as well as the subaru tribeca. This engine is completely compatible with any EJ series tranny and will mount in any modern subaru engine bay without fit problems.

the EG33 was found in the SVX, it featured the same bore and stroke as the EJ22, so you could find compatible performance parts (like forged pistons) much more easily. It was a torque monster, but not as reliable as the EJ series engines. This engine also bolted to the EJ tranny (I think) but was a bit longer than the EJ engines, and got in the way of the radiator. Nevertheless, it is found in several imprezas and Legacys.

The XT6 (predecessor to the SVX) also had an H6 (2.7litres) but I really don't know much about it, except that it was the model for the EG33.

The first set of 3.0s were 210HP, they're now 250hp

the 3.3 was in the area of 220HP, but was a much older model...

dunno about the 2.7 I think it was around 150HP

What's the point of the 4cyl turbo at 250hp and the 6 at 250hp? I guess if you want to add a turbo to the 6?

The 6 has way more low end, and is considerably smoother. Much more tempered for a luxury vehicle. The 4 is more exciting for us sports car lovers :D

I've seen the graphs...PDX tuning's turbo'd H6 puts out about 425 whp.

But H6s are hard and expensive to turbo.

Likely SubieSport magazine or possibly Modified magazine. It definitely wasn't Super Street since they only show WRX sedans.

I've seen that perrin car before, they had it at SEMA.

There was a purple 02 wrx with a twin turbo h6 in it at NOPI last year, I think its on nasioc too. making 1000+hp. Look up my nopi pictures thread, I have pics in there.

Stock EG33 puts down 230hp/228lbs/ft. There's a guy on the SVX boards running a Boosted version of the EG33 @ 8 lbs. Apparently, he smoked a stock 06 Mustang a few days ago so...they make the power.

There's a TT version of the SVX in the works.
