I know a lot of people on here either have a wrx or a wrx engine or have experience with them so I though I would post this over here and see what input everyone has.

The car is throwing the p0244 overboost code but the car is completely stock besides a k and n and a Perrin AFTA-maf tube...

Do you have a manual/eletronic boost controller?

Do you have a boost gauge?

What PSI is the car running

...

Your is overboosting becuase the internal wastegate wont open and the ECU is reading a high PSI rating so the ecu activates the fule cut and the CEL.

Solutions / Possibilities
1) Vacuum lines from turbo/wastegate/"T" connectors/ Boost controller are loose/broken/cut/leaking
2) Your internal wastegate is failing (rare but it happens)
3) ummmmm I cant remember....

Car is 100% stock...

Yea the replies at Nasioc are saying to check the vac lines running off the tubro and BOV...

Possibly the restrictor pill...

Some people install a manual boost controller dialed at stock boost to aviod this problem.

I have read many posts related to the restrictor pill but all of them removed it at first then replaced it to solve the overboost issue.

Solved!!!

There was a little in-line coupler in the vacuum line that comes off the T fitting on the vacuum line from the wastegate... somehow it snapped in two... a trip to the stealership for a new one solved the issue...

I would have just gotten a regular inline fitting but it is actually an air restrictor (spelling?) with a specific inside diameter.

Thanks for the help everyone!
