Hi, my sub. leg. 1993 2.0 GL has a problem.

In lower revs the engine backfires into my airintake.
Does anybody know how to solve this?
I think it's adjusting the ignition system but how can i do that by this car?

My check engine light is also burning.

Sorry about my bad english, it's because i'm dutch

Any modifications?

I would have the CEL code pulled so you know what the code is.

Alternatively, reset the ECU and then when the CEL illuminates, pull that code and fix that issue.

Have you changed anything on the car recently or did this just start to happen one day?

codes cant be pulled on a 93 dutch legacy...

consider inspecting your ignition components, test the resistance of your plug wires, look at the condition of your plugs, look for corrosion at all mating points... check out the coil for damage... also test the coil for resistances... make sure the grounds are all ok...etc, etc.

are you sure its backfire and not afterfire?

does it happen on deceleration or acceleration?

^^I'm with Jesse, it sounds like a spark problem.

Your english is pretty good.
