Hey all,

New to SLI, and, well, Subaru altogether. Recently purchased a 2000 Legacy wagon, 2.5L, Burgundy in color.

Bought with safety, E-tested by myself with easy pass, so far have done:

New head gasket (previous owner)
New timing belt (previous owner)
Had drivers window switch "fixed" (right Chuckthefuk...)
Had drivers window switch replaced, after terrible rainy night "conflict"
New 5% tint all around with driver and passenger side @ 25% for legality.
Minor altercations done to power steering pump belt to deal with squealing issue. Issue was resolved.
Muffler fell off as I reached my street one day after a full day of driving. That has been welded back together, with no issues since (approx 2 weeks)
Seat covers lol  .....So shoot me, I was broke.

Looking to have done/ deal with:

Looking for hood with an underscoop. Im told I need one from an American Baja turbo or Japanese RSK / B4 Models.
Have minor rust issues- bottom of door on inside of panel, 2 small spots at top of windshield, and a few other very small spots
My weather guard for my muffler is falling off, thus rattles. Think I may just rip it off!
Minor paint issues
Would like some nice Black 5 spoke Subaru rims 15/16"

Other than that car seems to run fine, and it is clean inside. However it has not had a full look over yet, and Im planning a 20Hr trip in late July, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

It was good meeting the few of you that showed up Saturday afternoon to the annual Subaru meet in Mississauga, and thanks to the guy with the coffees!
Also thanks to chuckthefuk and friends for the help they have provided me thus far, and im sure in near future lol.

Glad to be part of SLI, and looking forward to making my Subaru tip top :smt023

Quit while your ahead and ask for some deals from our mechanic fans.

Im getting a sway bar from Johnny. I can use that.
Had an issue with the rental, so I just used the money for the rental for the repairs.
Also, I was gunna call you later. Check engine light came on today.

Why would you take jon's swaybar there is no increase in size its the same.

What did you pay for ball joints/tie rods?

Go to canadian tire and buy a code reader.

300 approx. It wasnt that bad in cost, and I got lifetime warranty on all parts.

either way, it was either the repairs or $400 for a rental car. Id say it was better to put the money into my car.
I drove the subaru from Toronto to Nova Scotia and back, and it worked great. I think the CEL came on because for some reason my dad put too much coolant in it before I left on Saturday. The fans seem to be running more now too. Maybe a coolant sensor?
Ill get our friends help for sure once I figure this issue out.

Wait why were you running low on coolant and what type did he use?

green or pink?

it was low to begin with. And I believe it was green. He said it was premix with water.

How can you spend money on:
- exhaust
- tierods/ball joints
- transmission flush / filter
- oil change.

and not mention that your FUKIN coolant is low!!

For fuk sakes.

cause it wasnt below the low line yet, just close. Im sure it wouldve been fine, but he just added all fluids (except transmission) just in case for the long drive.

What line?

There is no line for coolant. If your looking at your reservoir (the white bottle) on the side that has nothing to do with the amount of coolant in your system.

Taking the RAD cap off will let you judge the level.

ok, then im talking about the reservoir, he filled that.

k, so a code reader is $200. Im not paying that much to get a code that may or may not be accurate.
Also, the CEL went off on my way home from work...hmmm
