hey folks.

when my car died on the way back from alabama, i had pulled over cause the temp guage was creeping up, i had been doing about 80 for miles and miles and miles...

pulled over, shut the car off, topped off the radiator, and go to start the car again and it cranks but wont start..sounded like fuel delivery to me.

sure enough, pulled the hose and turned the key, no fuel.

fiddled around with the relay, etc. eventually pulled the trunk liner out and exposed the pump.

its a 5 pin connector, but according to the diagram one 2 of those are for the pump motor itself.

the blue/yellow wire gets 12V when the key is turned.(that must be positive)

the black wire reads "open circuit" when using a multimeter to ground.

so i must have a bad ground circuit..

where is this grounded in stock from? i can always add another ground. but would rather keep it as it came.

the diagram just shows one connector then ground.

anyone know where the ground is supposed to be?

and why would it just FAIL like that?

had the car doin 80, then pulled over, then no start...weird

There is another 2-pin connector under the rear seat.

I only have a wiring diagram for a 99, and the wire colors are different. The only blue/yellow wires I see are for the evap system, and I don't think there connectors would be in the same area.

Had a similar problem like yours I think. No fuel coming from the fuel pump however in the end it was a fuse that was burnt out. Check the green fuse SBF # 1 or SBF # 2 and see if that is burnt out. For some reason my grounding kept burning up this fuse and finally after buying 5 of these fuse for spare for my car I finally got one to work. So again open up the front fuse box and take a look at the green fuse. Good luck and let me know if this may be the case.
