I have a 97 BK, and I want to get KYB GR2's and some stiffer springs that are stock height. I cant lower my car because I have to drive up on curbs regularly. I have looked but cant find anyone replacing suspension stuff that are not lowering it as well. Any ideas would be appreciated. Also, I want to increase my rear swaybar diameter, what is the stock size and I believe Outback rear bars are bigger, if I got one of those would I have to replace the swaybar bushings and mounts as well?
Thanks,
Logan

I was looking at King springs, they make a stock spring that is a little stiffer if I remember correctly. You have to ship overseas tho, I was quoted at around $650 including shipping and everything from New zealand to my parents house. Those are the only springs I've found that sound like what you're looking for.
I think the BK has a 14 or 16mm RSB. Outbacks have an 18mm RSB. You don't HAVE to replace the bushings and mounts, but anything newer and stiffer would help. New endlinks should be a good upgrade too if you're gonna upgrade the RSB. The stock ones are basically plastic.

Okay, I will probably get new bushings then. Next, I found some 2006 Legacy Spec B springs for sale, will the fit my car and keep it the same height? Im thinking even if they do fit, they will lower a bit but I am not certain.

2006 Legacy Spec B is a different suspension to your 97 Legacy. Won't fit.

Take a look at the Ground Control coilover conversion kit. You get four springs of any rate and length you want as well as adjustable ride height perches.
This would let you run whatever spring rate you want without lowering the car. I'd recommend you not go absurdly stiff, somewhere in the 200-250lb region. Stock is super silly soft. My BK on 350lb linear springs is quite stiff enough-- the effective wheel rate is higher than on my M3 track car (yay geometry).

Which kit did you get? I only see one for 92-94 Legacies, and I don't remember practically anything about suspension switching between Subarus. Is the coilover just a spring that is adjustable that will fit over the KYB GR2 shocks I ordered? I am a little confused about it but am very interested.
