I have a bosal cat that was going to go on my last legacy before it got totaled anyways since it's been sitting in the shipping box since Feb I was thinking about making it into a HFC by drilling out part of the structure..

I have emissions here in CT (why..) So if I drilled all of it out I'm sure I would fail.. plus I'm curious how it would sound with UEL headers with a stock front cat and this gutted 2nd cat with a magnaflow muffler..

I'm trying not to get raspy

Im not a fan of "gutted" cats, talk about turbulence, but I guess it wouldn't matter too much. I could understand if you want to gut it to weld in a straight pipe to hide it from inspection. But to destroy a brand new cat doesn't make sense to me. I would have a piece mad the same size of the cat with a straight or HFC. Put stock cat on for inspection, then swap in other section. Two years later swap back for next inspection....
